Not one of their very best songs, but a very interesting choice. It did sound like running through it another couple of times would have helped. In addition to the opening mistake by Jagger, I think he starts to come in early several times at the break. When he finally hits the right spot, he and Charlie look at each other and Charlie's smiling at him.

My guess is that most people at the Stones' US concerts had attended concerts in the past 25 years and/or have seen the concert documentaries. Mixed Emotions was #5 on the US charts, and number 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Love Is Strong received substantial radio and TV play (even though they didn't always play that well live). Rough Justice was played at the Super Bowl. A bunch

"I guess you haven't seen thopse circa 1964 - 1965 photos of the stones joking around with and signing autograph for police officers?" I was thinking about some of those years in between then and now.

That photo with the police officers -- it's photoshopped, right? Right? Boy, times have changed.

Mick spun his hat off and it curved and landed at Keith's feet. Keith picked it up, rather gingerly, and tossed it on Charlie's drumset. Charlie picked it up, bemused, and tossed it behind him, offstage. I was more impressed by Charlie's drumstick toss into the crowd at the end. He can still thow those things far!

Keith didn't look bored at all. He was soaking it in, smiling, and radiating that he was in his element, loved what he was doing, and loved the attention. It all seemed very genuine. Nothing Mick did seemed genuine. All artifice. Spectacular artifice. Part of the tension that's kept them rolling.

I think it was the best Rambler I've seen. Perhaps the realtively weak Gimme Shelter balanced that. Miss You also had a rough start -- I think that was the one where Keith startled and looked up at Mick, focused. But as we've discussed, mistakes are part of what the Stones do. The music, energy, and focus were spectacular for any show -- let alone this stage in their career. And

A couple of random responses: From the pit, Aaron Neville's mike was set too soft. I also noticed Mick trying to wrap up CYHMK before everybody else was ready. And thoughts: Charlie was grinning quite a bit during the evening. I watched him looking to Chuck for most of the cues. Keith occasionally signaled or looked over, but usually didn't. One odd moment -- Mick fumbled

Taylor added so much when he played tonight. As others have noted, there's a sense of adventure when he plays that is missing without him. His movement and playing to the audience are so different now. Of course, I hadn't seen him live in over 40 years. Jagger is remarkable. Mick and Keith had NO interaction tonight. It was very obvious when they walked past each other on t

Just got back. I Asked the man at the $85 tickets if he might have something good for me. He said "since you asked so nicely . . ." He gave me the top envelope on the stack and sent me to the side! Pit seats. Stood in the 6th row. Between Ronnie and Mick. Initial thoughts. Midnight Rambler was spectacular. Keith looked WAY better than at the Hubert Sumlin concert, and was pla

Just looked at TM. 2 lowers in Loge 7, Row 10, for $165. Not taking them; going in Philly. For cheap seats, the Boston 2d show just has $250 seats in the balcony.

I have a pair of $85 tickets for the Tuesday Philly show. When I bought them, I realized that I'd probably not be in Philadelphia on the 18th, so I called and the ticket office said I could give them another name to pick them up. I'll sell them at face to a board member. Now sold. Thanks. UPDATE: 6/13 - I sold these tickets to a board member, and called the Wells Fargo Cente

I remember when the Stones used to hang with the Blues folks in Chicago. (I also rememember a Bob Greene column (in '75?) about how Howlin' Wolf was expecting the Stones to come for dinner after the show, and his wife cooked up a bunch of chicken, and they didn't come, until Bill Wyman finally showed up at about 2 a.m.)

Thanks, Very nice. (I do think it would sound better with a real piano, instead of the plinky electric keyboard sound). Really nice shot of the teleprompter for the lyrics.

"It surprises me the fact that people who demand more variety and more "danger" as for the setlists, are usualy the same people who recollect the so called "golden years". But, if i remember correctly the corresponding statistics, on the entire 1978 and 1981 tour the Stones played only 33 and 37 songs respectively. On the current tour, they have already played 31 songs, a

"what more could they do to satisfy everybody?' We've been through this before. They have such a vast catalog. They're also so good at playing blues tunes, and Chuck Berry tunes. They could change up more than 2 or 3 or 4 songs a night and most fans would know most of the songs. They could rotate Street Fighting Man and several others of their hits through the w

One last album of new tunes and a few well-chosen covers. One or more tours, in arenas at lower prices and theaters at higher prices, with the band sitting down for much of the show, playing blues and R&B, as well as their own songs. Making it about the music instead of the spectacle. And long life and health.
