indystonesfan, bv (and others) keep politely asking that a separate thread be created for wishlists. Please leave this thread for actual rumors. Thanks.

I always thought this would be a great opener in an arena or theater show. Mick coming from backstage singing the opening lines . . . .

I went to the charity show Thursday night. Here's the Rolling Stone review: Simon led off. Voice kind of reminded me of Phil Collins. The two songs he did by himself were ok. He's a fine guitarist. (It must be tough being incredibly talented, and relying on your more talented and famous brother for work.) His duets with Vedder were beautiful. The show had a very nice, l

I agree with Doxa. I saw one of the first CYHMK with Ronnie in Chicago. He was concentrating hard, and he and the crowd were thrilled he could pull it off. I saw him play it again a year or so later, and he was phoning it in. When I saw MT at the Philadelphia 2 show in 2013, he wasn't phoning anything in. His playing wasn't as achingly beautiful as when I saw him in 1972, and h

Very interesting. And we all thought it was Mick who put the kibosh on playing the rarities. It turns out Chuck doesn't even remember all the songs from the most popular albums. That said, it is good of Chuck to post as much as he does.

I still want to see "Tell Me" on the rehearsal list. The first song they wrote, and the name of this very board. A shout out to BV, as you will.

Boy, should this thread be deleted. Discussing abba on a Rolling Stones board? Ugh.

This kind of reminds me of the Who2's situation with Pino Palladino. Pete has said that he doesn't want to be overwhelmed by the bass as he was with Ox, so The Who has much less bottom and power than it used to. Palladino can obviously do more than he does with The Who, but was told to tone it down. I wonder whether Darryl was told to keep it simple, so that's what he does.

On Rollingstone.com. Most of the interview is about working with Brian Wilson again, and his history with the Beach Boys. He says the only reason he was given for not being on the Stones' latest tour was that the band was downsizing.

Til I Die partial video It's probably the first time Al Jardine and David Marks ever did it. I saw the show in DC Saturday night. Very strong show, with the highlights being the material Beck played with the Wilson/Jardine folks. Surf's Up was sublime, and Jeff played a particularly strong A Day in the Life. I love Brian Wilson and his band, and just like Beck's music, bu

The prosecutors wouldn't want me on the jury. I'd vote to acquit. Playing the Eagles is bad taste. Overplaying them is a crime. Ending an endless Eagles loop is self-defense.

Saw the show in boston. I bought discount tickets the day before the show. It was very good (though not spectacular). Eddie was on that night. "How can I be sure" was chill-inducing. The theater was maybe 70% full. Peter Wolf was sitting behind me at the back of the main floor for the first few songs. I don't know if be left or moved. Worth seeing if you get the chanc

Actually Paul often sounded more like Brian Wilson or Carol Kaye. I agree that comparing Paul to Ox is an apple to orange comparison. Both were great at what they did -- but they weren't trying to do the same thing. As others have noted, Pete didn't play the lead most of the time; Keith and Ox alternated lead between them. That's why The Who sounded different than anybody e
