I saw them a few weeks ago here in Montreal (their home town as well) opening for U2. They blew me away, what a great performance, while U2 didn't impress me at all.

Please don't bring them down to the level of religion, I love the Stones, hate the brainwashing they call religion. As they said it themselves in 'Send it to me' "Religion is a state of mind I don't need"

Actually I didn't pull it from any boot. Once every now and again I like to search on Kazaa or limewire with phrases like "rare stones" or "unreleased rolling stones". Usually I end up with nothing but once in a while you hit the jackpot......

I agree with poor immigrant that the Stones could learn from U2. They will both play the bell centre here in Montreal in the near future and I will not only see the Stones show but also one of the U2 shows. The opener for the Stones will be Anik Jean (???) and the opener for U2 will be The Arcade Fire. IMO a very very good band from Montreal. I will certainly see the U2 opener, but I think I will

I don't think that everything they did is wonderful, far from it but I have never been disappointed at the Stones shows I've seen so far. Maybe that's because I

nag nag nag..... I'm getting sick and tired of all you naggers who have nothing interesting to say. If you don't like what they do then don't go see them and don't buy their cd's and shut up about it. I thought this was a board for fans of the stones. These guys are 60+ years old, what do you expect? Just be happy that they do tour.

I'm sorry you didn't see the sarcasm in my remark. I just wanted to make clear that I think it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. In my opinion the floor (field) should be general admission to experience the real concert feeling.

I agree with you Stones89, Steel Wheels wasn't that bad. On the other hand these "rate this....rate that" threads are so subjective. Everybody has a different taste. Fun to read once in a while but no more than that.

June 2, 1999 in Groningen. I was up front (3rd row), it was the first time they played in my home town and it was my (and Charlie's) birthday. It is quite something when 75000 people behind you sing 'happy birthday' on your birthday.
