great to see Memory Motel played - especially as its an addition that isnt on a greatest hits album

No doubt included because of the Boston namecheck in the lyrics

Setlist of the tour so far.

Mick, Chuck,...whoever...if anyone is reading this...please mix up the sets like this more often!

Gimme Shelter - now we're talking. Thats the number of different songs played up to 50 for those who are keeping count

The first 2 and a half shows of 2006 have been more interesting than the last two and a half months of 2005 combined

somethin tells me Mick has been readin the setlist whiners/carers and decided to tweak things a bit at last

RING! RING!!

"hello, Mr Jagger? - now, about the final third of these shows you've been playing up to now....some folks appear to have rumbled this ruse of merely changing the running order of the songs around...."

I´m positive. 100% sure that the Whining... Sorry Message Boards
have been checked. Why the hell would they play MM otherwise for?

Because of the Boston reference in the song, primarily, to be honest.

It will be interesting to see whether it gets semi-regular status or was just a one off local crowd pleaser

Do you mean on this tour, or all together (they played it several times in 94-99)?
My answer is: because it's a damn fine song!

Judging from reports I've read here and on Shidoobee, it was a BIG crowd pleaser. The band can't be blind to that. I'd like to think we'll see MM show up again soon. I wouldn't have thought that "Let's Spend..." would show up two nights in a row, but it did.

Changing the topic slightly...Gazza - a lot of people here, myself included, are anxiously awaiting your ABB show review. I think you mentioned that you're going to NYC.

He, didnt think about that MM-Boston-connection... smiling smiley
Hrm. Well, it might be a paralel to Sweet Virginia
in Charlotte or wherever it was they played it.

No reference in Shelter to Boston anyway?

I am, yes. Leave Wednesday morning, back on Monday, going to both shows, as well as the Ivan Neville/Bernard Fowler gig at BB King's club right after the 2nd MSG show

Didnt realise my 'review' of a couple of shows were worthy of such anticipation, dj...lol

Reservations about setlists and ticket prices aside, I'm sure I'll enjoy them OK. I always do. The partying should be fun, too

I'm a bit more optimistic about the shows than I was a few weeks ago because of the way theyve been going over the last few nights

We hope for you 2 Great shows. Will they be recorded for another Get Yer, as this could be their last performances at MSG. Worth the trip. Stones and NY !!!

If we're talking name references, I'd rather have heard Harlem Shuffle at the last MSG than Shattered -smiling smiley

Gazza - RU going to Ronnie's art show?

First let's just establish that there will never be the PERFECT SET LIST that satisfies everyone! Case in point! I just returned from Boston and could only stay for the first show, the 13th! It was, as you know, awesome! I was thriled to hear " AS TEARS GO BY" and thrilled with the 2 songs by Keith! LOVE HAPPY and THIS PLACE IS EMPTY! HOWEVER, I can not get over the fact that they obviously rehearsed GIMME SHELTER and yet did not play it Friday! WHY???? Not only that, but we didn't even get NIGHTIME! To waste a voice like Lisa's is criminal! Yes, we got a long and awe-inspiring MIDNIGHT RAMBLER and a wonderful RAIN FALL DOWN ( which I far prefer over ROUGH JUSTICE) that showcased Daryl's great bassline! They even ressurected RESPECTIBLE and played the hell out of it! Ok, so why am I still a bit miffed?? Because I am not a fan of MISS YOU and yet every show I've seen, they've managed to play that song, 8 or 9 minutes WASTED when I could have been listening to a NEW SONG off of ABB or a song with Lisa and Mick going toe to toe, which I am SURE fans love! All in all our show was awesome, especially the energy level and crowd interaction! Bottom line, I am eternally grateful that I am even ABLE To see the Rolling Stones in 2006!

Just got back from both boston shows.

Totally worth it!

The problem now is that my expectations are very high for both MSG shows.

Special guests? 22 song setlists? Star, Star???

Rocks Off was pretty good last night but still, they need to play songs that they haven't played on past tours, new and old instead of recycling songs the real fans have already heard multiple times.Four shows in Boston, one in Hartford this tour and no It Won't Take Long,Mr.Pitiful,or Waiting On A Friend among the songs that they have played over the past five months.

Very Good Would be awesome minus Miss You & You Got ME Rocking. These are tired & worn. Don't hate or even dislike the songs themselves. Just why all the time?? Its a mystery. Does Mick really think people want to hear these all the time? Also I could do without You Can't Always Get What You Want. The Rest are Very good.

Imagine minus those three (2 real long tunes) like 15 minutes for MU & Can't always Get & play 5 shorter songs. If You Can't Rock Me, Out OF Time, Child OF The Moon, Out OF Control (great Live song), She Was Hot in their place. Oh yeah also Play Carol!!!!!

Just checked Chuck's homepage.....

[www.chuckleavell.com] FANS RESPOND

He surely reads the fans comments, and that's where the change in the setlist comes from..... of course some of his comments are a bit selfish, but else it is ok......

And he probably doesn't only read his own homepage, probably IORR and othes as well.....

So keep on giving Chuck good inputs for a improved setlist.....
