I know this thread is about Charlie's solo discs, but just wanted to point out he plays on a track on a recent Chico Hamilton cd called 'Forestorm". really intricate brush playing from Charlie! its an enjoyable disc, by one of the first drummers to inspire Charlie when he was starting to play drums. if the fans are anything like they are at Duke basketball games you're in for a wild show. its likely however that most of the audience will be older than college age. I'm gonna see the Charlotte show in about a month! DR ps you'll have a great time, enjoy!

What if the Glimmers just produced themselves? and why the anti-Don Was sentiment? ABB is doing pretty well... however, Rubin's work with the Chili Peppers is great. guess MJ didn't go for some of his ideas on Wandering Spirit... DR

if Jagger's in control, then he sounds a bit bored by it, according to the interview in Rolling Stone...he stated he didn't want to do a big tour, and that he loses interest after the first several shows...so they'll put another DVD out (I hope) like 40 Flicks...Mick will take on more film projects...Ronnie will record with Rod, maybe do a record...Keith, who knows? Another wino r

I was checking out the reviews of ABB on Amazon, out of curiosity, and one by someone called "drslyfield", Dallas TX, was really weird. first off this person hadn't heard the album, and didn't intend to...then proceeded to say the Stones sounded their best at Altamount, when "someone got snuffed...too bad it wasn't Jagger..." then this 'reviewer' wen

I am wondering in what context Keith said this, the news report is just too skimpy, and really needs follow up...to me this is a major statement by Keith... also, I haven't seen the new Rolling Stone mag, are they featured on the cover, big story, interviews, etc? wtf.

no, no, no...Stones without Charlie? they would tour without him? As The Rolling Stones? no, no, no...surely not? after all the 'we don't go anywhere without the engine'..., and "Mick, me, and Charlie, that's the irreducible core"... what about that...just talk?

Some news report I just read quoted Keith as saying they would've toured anyway if Charlie had died... who did he say that to? What interview? this is 1st I've heard of this...

so many variations on this topic have come and gone. when Bill Wyman retired he did so after expressing a lot of frustration about Mick and Keith. He was plenty resentful. He felt cheated out of songwriting credit, he expressed great resentment about how Brian Jones had been treated, and of course Mick and Keith barely acknowledged any of this. here's a point of view to consider: Bill W

when one sees recent photos of him, he does seem uncharactaristically sad. only can imagine what it must feel like, with the unique role in the band he has- somewhere between essential member and sideman. or it seems that way to me, and is all the more obvious as Charlie, Keith, and Mick are and always have been the essence of the band. But from reviews of the 2 shows and the club gig, he'

heh heh this is a funny thread..I have wondered the same...since they're doing a Ray Charles song now, maybe Jagger has been there, in the tradition of Ray and the Raelettes, who as they say, to work with Ray, had to 'let Ray'.... btw how did she Come to work with the Stones? heh heh... DR

one can hope...there's a great, 30 years running blues club in Charlotte NC called the Double Door Inn. Eric Clapton sat in there with the Legendary Blues Band, years ago...its one of the great joints for live music anywhere. here's hoping the band will consider playing some at this great bar! Oct 21... DR
