with the Johnny Cash movie out now, and the success of 'Ray', looks like good biographical movies about important musicians are viable as big movies. I'd like to see a good one made about the Stones, told through the viewpoint of Ian Stewart. We know how important he was and still is to this band. Would it be a good film? DR

He sure seems happy just playing with the Stones. Before, he had several high profile gigs. Since he's been with the Stones, he seems not to have taken on any other gigs, no freelancing, except a movie role...right? Has he done anything else musically since he's been with them? DR

Inez and Charlie Foxx, they toured Europe with the Stones ca. '64, they were a big early influence. Mick cited Inez Foxx as who he learned a lot of dance moves from. From Greensboro NC ! thanks! DR

just putting my 2 cents in...with all respect to BV, I was at the Charlotte show, and to me it seemed lacking in something, and the songs were played well but not with that certain Stones fun in jamming, especially on Miss You, and Satisfaction, I realize its subjective and I'm glad I got to see them. Compared to the only audience recording I've heard so far, from Philly 10/10, that sh

Duane in Houston--yeah its a very good version but "blows the door off Keith's version"? hmmm... Keith's vocals suit the song so well, I don't think it can be topped. Yet Steve Earle's attitude in his version comes from a very similar experience. DR

I agree the points in this thread, just saw the Charlotte show, thinking about it all weekend. It was perfunctory. I've seen the Stones several times and I love the band. But compared to recent arena shows (Charlotte '99, all the Licks Tour arena shows) the set list wasn't very inspiring. Most in the audience had a great time so its cool. One question ...why are the Stones no

Hi all, during YCAGWYW somebody hopped in and sat beside Chuck and played those Al Kooper organ licks to perfection! Who was this? I couldn't see well enough to recognize the person, does anyone know who it was? I have mixed responses to this show overall...if you were there, what do you think? Bjornulf liked it...and said nice things about Charlotte and the new arena..(Keith: "hey,

McCartney quoted Keith as saying to him "you know what the difference between your band and ours is".."you had four frontmen, we only had one".. this is in the interview with McCartney in the current Rolling Stone. also another difference: their four frontmen never could really get along, and didnt want to bother to tour... but the Stones thrive on it! another important d

They rocked through the Sixties, they sucked in the Seventies, they went dormant in the Eighties, and they came back in the Nineties. What's left to do for the Rolling Stones? We still want them, so they're still playing for us. Why do we still want them? Their longtime keyboard player Chuck Leavell, from his outsider on the inside view, says its due to shared nostalgia. The au

Amen KSIE on the Blood Oranges! they were a very cool band weren't they..also want to add Rodney Crowell to the list. And, a band from Texas called the Gourds, not exactly straight up country, but roots/Americana for sure. Great melodic tunes, sharp humor, deep groove. A lot to listen to in the Gourds! DR
