Hard to remember...but I think it was Love At First Sting by the Scorpion (the original album cover) on cassette...I was 8. I think the 2nd was Like A Virgin on LP...no comments from the peanut gallery.

Santa did give me Sgt. Peppers as my first tape...I was 6 then...

Even if it wasnt the Stones, and I didnt buy it (got it
from my father, since he didnt like it); I`m proud to say that
the first album I could call mine was Machine Head with DP. I was eight,
and a very happy boy.

Pop by U2. An amazing album even tho it's been heavily criticized. Although I did get the Lion King and Batman Forever soundtracks before those cds, but my first real album was U2.

My sister and I joined the Columbia record Club when we were about 12. So, we got 6 albums in the mail, things like "West Side Story", "My Fair Lady", and stuff by Bobby Vee and Dion.

The first actual album bought was "Meet the Beatles".

Cher, Madonna, Leif Garrett, . . . man it'd be so easy to poke fun, and so wrong.

So I won't.

I bought McCartney's Band on the Run and Elton John's Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player together on sale. My brothers already owned every Stones album there was at the time.

I also remember buying Kiss: Alive for my sister's birthday, was she ever mad--she thought I was buying it for myself (which I was because I couldn't afford to buy here an album and buy Kiss). To get me back she bought me Dylan's Desire for my birthday. That only made her madder still, because I liked Desire more than she did.

By the way, the last album I bought was ABB. smiling smiley
