I think it was Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC.

Wish that was mine. Ditto the poster who got Dressed to Kill by Kiss.

I fear, in all honesty my first album was by Shakin Stevens. My first rock album was Dead Ringer by Meatloaf in 81. The rest is history

It was either Songs, Stories & Pictures of the Beatles (VeeJay Records) or Something New. Can't quite remember which I got first.

First single was Lennon's Mind Games. I think the first album was Goat's Head Soup.
I got a lot of albums for Christmas and birthday presents.
When my sister went away to college, she left her stereo and Beatles records behind,
so I listened to those for a few years. I remember buying Satanic Majesties and Ya Ya's in the summer of '74, and buying Exile in a pouring rainstorm. Boy, when I was a kid I used to love waking up and going directly to my sister's stereo (it took a while for the turntable to warm up) and waiting to play those Beatle records. Buying records was like Christmas Day every day back then. A bygone age.

Elvis Double Greatest Hits album. I think it was 1973.

WHOA! Massive spending at a record fair today...I got all kinds of goodies.

The reason I'm posting to this post, is I rebought said record today, for 5 bucks, the same price I paid all those years ago. I had lost it when my parents moved (whilst still a kid).

So, it's a push, or as Jerry would say, I'm even steven!

Procol Harum, Exotic Birds and Fruit

My older brother had a huge collection that I leeched of off. He turned me onto the Stones, Beatles and Who and I listened to all his records. But Procol Harum was the first band I 'discovered' I was into on my own.

I bought 2 my first time in 1973. Black Sabbath (Paranoid), Who's Next.

Although I already had quite a few freebees, my Mother worked at a record Distribution company and we got a a lot of promo stuff also. I still have Hot Rocks with Promontional copy not for sale stamped on it. Its beat to shit I played it a ton Dragging the Needle back and forth across the Vinyl.
