I have this Ann Peebles disc. Fantastic! Basically the same band that backed Al Green during his salad days. Classic Memphis.
Yes she's amazing, and here's another - a great cover (originally recorded by Bobby Blue Bland). Forum: Tell Me

Flaco also toured and recorded extensively with Ry Cooder in the 1970's

I was totally impressed.

Great doc.Tiny's 1996 disc "Girl" (yes, the Beatle song) with Brave New Combo is excellent. In a musical sense, not as a comical diversion. Forum: Tell Me
Thunderclap Newman Produced by Pete Townshend, who was friends with one of the members. Excellent album btw. Look for Jimmy McCulloch, later of Wings fame. Forum: Tell Me
I've sung The Last Time at each and every one of my weddings. Hasn't come true yet.... Marriage is a great thing - everyone should try it 2 or 3 times. Forum: Tell Me
BTB has always been one of my fav Stones' albums. Love the mixture of the RnB and light psychedelia. Great songwriting. The UK/Decca version is superior because of the Flowers songs. Forum: Tell Me

Who TF is Alexandra F. Chase? If I google her name, I only see the Town&Country cover pictures.
New York debutante (maybe related to the banking Chases?) Pic is by Linda Eastman (McCartney). If I'm not mistaken, there's a thread on this somewhere in this board... Forum: Tell Me
he played with a lot of people (Little Feat, Joni Mitchell, Steve Wonder! et. al.), but don't think he ever sat-in on any Stones material. Forum: Tell Me

Where did that guy who just loved Dirty Work go? Actually, I miss him. I liked his trolling...
Me maybe? Love DW, and many times stated so. Haven't posted for a long time, but if I'm your guy - I missed you too! ;-) Forum: Tell Me
Great article/interview Kurt. Thanks for sharing.
I love III's honky-tonk stuff (amazing similarity to his granddaddy), but the thrash/speedcore part of his show just doesn't ring my bell. YMMV
But, have to give him a lot of credit for doing what he does. Not too many people would have the cajones to play thrash in front of a country crowd, nor honky-tonk in front of a bunch of Forum: Tell Me

QuoteKSIEWhilst cooking I like JJF (album = Through the Past Darkly?). Although, I kinda think of it as more of a "pointy-finger" tune.
Ummmm... I think it's more a "Pouty-Pointy-Finger-hand-on-hip" tune.
Sorry, I don't think it's jerky leg.
Fair enough, I have to agree. Maybe I should start my own Pouty-Pointy thread! Forum: Tell Me
I'll play (and I love the thread BTW).
Whilst cooking I like JJF (album = Through the Past Darkly?). Although, I kinda think of it as more of a "pointy-finger" tune.
The jerky thing is best whilst cooking chicken......... Forum: Tell Me
Well he does remember (seemingly) all those lyrics.
When questioned about that, on the 25 X 5 doc, he says "of course I remember them all, I wrote them".

Keith's usual two song mini set was replaced by an extended slow jam of Sleep Tonight in Kansas City where he reportedly left the stage and was seen at a lower level men's room taking a piss break himself.
This may be the funniest thing I've ever read on this board! Bravo, rogue! Forum: Tell Me
