'84 Undercover Tour: The band never showed, but fans still paid upwards of $100 to hang-out in arenas all over the world.... Merchandise sales were brisk....

QuoteMathijs QuoteKSIE Quoteloog droog As far as the Stevie Wonder songbook is concerned, I've always felt that this was a real dud. Lyrics are a bummer, and even musically it just goes nowhere. Taylor's guitar breaks on the Stones cover add a lot of dynamics that improve upon Stevie's original, but in any case the Stones didn't have a lot to work with and even with them

probably way off-base on this, but FWIW: My LA 75 boot (forget which night it is) has some tape-speed problems which causes some nasty start-stops-skips-pops. I doubt that the Google product would have the same problem.

Quotedeadegad At about 1:27 Mick does the impossible by showing up behind Elton: Mick makes Elton look "straight' and macho while Mick with his make up and outfit looks like a gay 'cross-dresser.' Thanks for sharing. Don't forget the parasol...... I had the exact same thought.

Quotekeefriffhard4life QuoteKSIE I've really enjoyed the Sony/Columbia-Legacy Byrds set. Also: mentioned on here recently, the Leonard Cohen set. Of course this was just a packaging of his first ten, or so, studio releases. I'm a big honky-tonk fan, so I also love the Patsy Cline box set, which IIRC was done by the Country Music Hall of Fame, and overseen by Emmylou Harris. whi

Eilen Jewel's "Butcher Hollow" disc is all Loretta Lynn covers. It's excellent. Think I first heard about it here (or heard it first) on this board. Another reason to love IORR!

Quotecolonial The Flintstones..Mick Jadestone and The Rolling Boulders.. You deserve Extra Credit for this answer. When I was in college the Flintstones were on the local channel every day at 4pm. I'd yell to my roomates, "hey guys, the stones are on TV". They'd come running only to be greeted by Wilma, Fred, Betty, & Barney.

QuoteElmo Lewis Yeah, EG, "Streets Of Love" was used in a daytime saop. 90210 was back during the Voodoo Lounge tour. I hate to admit to knowing both of these, but the daytime show was "Days of our Lives" The BH90210 episode was VL Tour at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Could have been some clever editing, but it looked like the actors were at the actual show.

Quotecrumbling_mice Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant...one of the best, if not the best of the 'new' tracks. Proper Stones, loose harmonies, country and decadent. Prefer this to all the nonsense on ABB, and the other Exile extras. THis is the way forward for the band. Forget writing new songs which will just be parodies of earlier songs, go straight for classic country and blues covers

Another vote for the Grado. I have the SR225i and absolutely love 'em. Pricey. They make fantastic cartridges also, if you're into the turntable thing..........

Quoteohotos At this point I would prefer one last real studio album to close that chapter. In a controlled studio environment and lots of rehearsals and writing together they could maybe pull that off (Keith included, maybe with some studio trickery helping). I agree. The big issue, to me, of live shows, is the cost. I'm just not willing to fork-over a couple days' pay for me and

Quoteab Nothing much has changed. Their management just keeps finding new ways to flog the catalog, be it box sets of the original albums, outtakes boxes, and live recordings. Sounds familiar...............

Quotefiftyamp I've never heard of the Slim Harpo Awards, and I doubt Keith will show up(let alone play), but I bought tickets anyway. Figure it's worth a trip to NOLA for a few days, and I've never been to Baton Rouge. Jazz Fest time N.O. (approximately) and in Baton Rouge you're close to Avery Island (home of McIlheny-Tabasco sauce) and Breaux Bridge. Great time of the

I feel certain that Joan Jett has had some "work" done. Haven't looked at Billy Idol for a long time, but wouldn't expect him to be above doing the same. Don't really care: Joan Jett still snarls like a Runaway teen!! That's all that matters to me.

I love this album, and never fail to chime-in when the topic arises (as it is oft wont to do). And, just to stretch my neck out further on the chopping-block, "Hold Back" is my favorite tune. It rocks my world, but alas YMMV...

Nice article; she looks great. Although her work has been almost totally in television, I think she's a very good actress. Loved her in Knots Landing and in BH90210. (there, I've admitted that I have absolutely no taste).

QuoteNoCode0680 And you will come across a lot of FLAC files that are simply mp3 files converted to a FLAC file (meaning it's only as "good" as an mp3) Quote This is an important point. You can take a crappy MP3 file and "FLAC" it (convert it to FLAC format). In general FLAC is better quality than MP3, but only if you're comparing digital copies from the

Sad news, super-cool dude reponsible for giving a lot of exposure to some excellent 70s RnB. Will never forget seeing Bowie on Soul Train. In homage, I think we need a little Word Scramble (like they used to do on the show): OIRNDP
