Very energetic indeed! Too bad the horns are a little out of tune.

One of mine is Tumbling Dice from '95. Found on the wild horses single and on collectibles. Love the rehearsal-warming up intro, and the exploding into a full band groove! The sound is excellent and the band on fire! Ronnie does a blistering solo, Keith - well what to say? GOD! Charlie in one of his finest moments, and Mick sings it with power! The horns, bakground vocals... A nearly perfect

The guitar is tuned so that either an E or a G - chord is played without having to use you fingers to make the chord. (all strings loose.) Ronnie plays a lot of open E when playing slide. Keith uses open G on most of the classic Keith- riffs.

The year I became a Stonesfan, so naturally SW will always be special to me, but agree with the fact that it could have been much better productionwise. It hasn't stood the test of time in a way. With a more like VL / ABB sound maybe?

Liked their first album very much. They were playing a little rough on that one. Later with the blues-jazz-soul thing. I'm really not interested. Great guitarpicking by Albert King though.

You're right about the videos. Should have checked! (Even though I think he has a couple of "non-hits" in Angie) And as said bedore he didn''t do it consequently from the start. Just here and there on certain songs. And on Aux Abbattoirs from `76, I would say that he does it more often if not almost all the time. (without having watched the whole video, though...) Guess i

Just listen to Goats Head. You can also see it in the videos from the seventies. Hot Stuff

He started doing this around 72-73. You can hear him doing it on Goats Head, but not on Exile as I can remember. A funny thing is that wasn't doing it when he played the ride cymbal, but on the last tour he even skips the 2 and 4 on the ride very often. Another detail is that he's not doing it on fast swing beats like Rip This Joint",

Steve Jordan doesn't play on Dirty Work! He is a fairly good "Watts-player", but that would never happen!

With Charlie as good as he is these days, a new album is very welcome. Even the weaker songs on ABB is worth listening to because of him. Also agree with those who want Ronnie participating more in Stones' songwriting. He has a unique talent for chord-progressions and melody.

When Jim Keltner wants you to play the grooves on a drums/percussion-based album, you know you've got something special.

I use a Seymor Duncan "Duckbucker" in the bridge position on my Strat. Very twangy and crunchy sound.

1078. Re: WOODY
MT is maybe a better player... technically. But spiritually, musically and "weavingly"? Well, Ronnie is still there! And Ronnie also handles other instruments that have filled out the Stones- sound. As a performer on stage there should be no discussion! Ronnie is also a better and more creative riff/rhythm player than MT (More like Keith). To be a rock'n'roller takes more than
