Good liveversion of All Down The Line?

Hi there! I am new here!

I really want All Down The Line live in a good quality. Don´t know where I can find it. Would be really nice. I don´t understand why them haven´t released it live? I love the song!

I agree, it should be officially released . A live version from the 95 tour was realased on the Like A Rolling Stone single but is now out of print. so you have to get a bootlegged version. that one is on "Stipped Companion" I bet ADTL will be in the Shine A Light Movie. I hope so! I consider this one my 2nd favorite stones song.

true, a fan has to be familiar with bootlegs to know it was a live staple on every tour in the 70s.

Just about any version from 1978. Atlantic City 2006 was very good.

Houston first and second show from the american tour 1972...
The overdubed version from Philadelphia the same year (out on the boot "Keep Your Motor Running") is nice too.

It wasn't played on any of those two dates...I guess you must be thinking of another '81 gig

I was pleased to hear it at Slane this summer. Keith nailed the intro.

one of my all time top fave stones songs; my fave live version is brussels '73.
the rhythm section is just crazy out of this world intense; everything is...
this is the best live version i've ever heard, of the many good choices available, including 'l&g' clip imo.
you GOT To hear brussels version of this one cat; oh please trust me on this one.

THey didn't do All Down The Line after the first Hartford show, Nov 9th, in 1981. THat's just 6 days after they included Going To A Go Go in the setlist....in Kentucky

i saw it live in 2002 and I really liked it but I have to hear a song over and over to notice the finer points of it. I dont remember any fine points about how it was played. I was just glad to hear it.

Can I find the live version from the 95 tour somewhere on internet? a torrent or someone here who can upload it?
I really want that song in a good sound-quality, it would be so good!

I always felt the Welcome To New York, July 26, 1972, performance to be the quintessential live version. Everything after that is a variation.

Brussels '73 and MSG 26/7/72 both in soundboard quality. Anything w/Ron Wood sounds like he's playing the string on a tampon.

"All Down The Line" was a regular on every tour from '72 through '81 with the exception of the '76 European tour.

There are several soundboard recordings of the song in circulation including Houston 6/25/72 1st show and 2nd shows, Philadelphia 7/21/72 1st and 2nd shows, Pittsburgh 7/22/72, New York 7/26/72, Perth 2/24/73, Sydney 2/26/73, Sydney 2/27/73, Brussels 10/17/73 1st and 2nd shows, Buffalo 6/15/75, Los Angelos 7/11/75, Detroit 7/28/75, Frankfurt 4/29/76 (only time in Europe in '76), Passaic 6/14/78, Detroit 7/6/78, Ft. Worth 7/18/78, Houston 7/19/78, and the song was a regular on the '81 tour throughout the first half of the tour. Since the vast majority of the '81 shows are available as soundboard recordings, you can find many versions of the song from '81 in good sound quality also.

It's been played infrequently during the "modern era".

I think ADTL was really great this tour !

Atlantic City '06 was the best version since at least 1978,maybe since Frankfurt '76.The official version from 1995 (which by the way is not allowed on this site because of its official status) is very good but,it does not seem to have the same level of energy as Atlantic City '06 or Frankfurt '76.Of course it is very hard to go wrong with a 1972 or 1973 version.
