Every year Pinkpop festival is broadcast live for three days on one of Dutch public television networks (Nederland 3). Last year, all stages were recorded and the broadcast was streamed through channels like 3voor12, [3voor12.vpro.nl] However, I think Jan Smeets, the Pinkpop boss who's always been a huge RS-fan and already managed to get the VL and BtB tours to the festivalsite (but not

So far, bv only lists 'Stadium-size' gigs in Europe, apart maybe from Waldbühne which is outdoor. The rumoured arena sized gigs have been removed (like Ziggodome and Cologne Deutz). Not much use for the tongue in Europe so far! They'd better come up with a decent outdoor stage...

QuoteTornAndFried Quotegotdablouse Would they be in storage in the US at this point? I'm not sure where the "50 and Counting" stage is at the moment. Well, it appears to be in Shanghai . Why it's not used at every arena show one can only guess right now. Maybe there were problems shipping it into Macau? Or they have one set of upperlips only which can't be used eve

I must be lucky this time. From where I live, Pinkpop is a 25 km drive, Werchter 85 km and Cologne 100 km. Although I think I'm on holiday on the Werchter date... we'll skip that one then. Plenty of other options .

Thanks for separating this subject off into a separate thread. I feel it's worth discussing, for it might add to the value for money part, for as much as possible that is, if we lobby for it for Europe. For the festival, stadium and outdoor gigs however, they'll probably not use the lips anyway.

Quoteiorr.org news The Rolling Stones performed the first arena show of the 14 On Fire tour tonight in Macau, China, featuring the same arena stage as used during the 2012-2013 shows. This of course is not entirely the case. The 'upper lip' is missing, as you can see in the JJF video. In 2012/2013 the upper lip was there for the first few songs. The idea of the circular ramp forming a

Oh no, for me, the BtB stage was one of the reasons I became interested in the Stones as a touring band! It somehow proved they were the biggest, most extreme, boundary breaking band in the world... They just put down their castle for one day anywhere they seemed fit. And musically, they were up to it. Watch Keith in Bremen, 1998. Those were MY Stones!

QuoteLorenz Well, I'll actually leave to go back to Europe on March 13th, so I'm somewhat on the edge about this gig Planning to see a few shoes in Europe, but will depend a lot on the prices. It's not even that I can't afford it, I just don't feel it's right like paying more than €100 for a ticket. I feel exactly the same this time around. Of the rumoured places

QuoteThe Worst. QuoteLimbostone QuoteThe Worst. I seriously hope they won't use this stage in Europe. It's too small and boring for massive stadiums such as Stade de France and San Siro. Mick and the boys always legitimized high ticket prices with huge stages and terrific shows. No they haven't. Yes they have. Oh I'm sorry. But surely they're not planning on c

By the way, I also know a couple of people who know Jan Smeets, and neither have heard anything from him. He'd be crazy to brag, he's said too much already. About the rumoured shows: Antwerp, Werchter, Landgraaf and Cologne are on a 200 km line. However convenient this would be for me (I live half way; what an unexpectedly expensive summer this would turn out to be) I doubt there w

Can anyone remember the Voodoo Lounge tv-footage which shows Mick preparing for the show, giving us a tour backstage? At some vip-lounge he picks up a tour programme saying: "this is such crap", or something along that line. What's the programme aspect in that booklet anyway? Saying who's onstage? A real 'programme' would state the name of the warmup and the time

QuoteSipunculaI think they need new marketing people. No they do not. This would sell insanely better than a new Stones album would. The collected fanbase of these guests are hundreds of millions. They'll all buy the record or download some songs through iTunes.

I quite like the Live Licks version. The AC/DC guestspotversions of 2003 didn't do it for me though, however much I love AC/DC. The Live Licks edit is way better than it's original though, since Keith' stronger solo (which was originally played after Ronnie's) was moved to an earlier spot for Live Licks. You can find the original order on Four Flicks I think.

QuoteGasLightStreet With exception to the 1969 live version they've never played JJF worth a damn live. Yet they've done pretty good renditions of SFM over the years, especially on the LICKS tour. Sorry but SFM on the Licks tour is to the original what JJF since the seventies is to the original. Harder rocking, sharper guitars. I like them all.
