How useless. There's songs in there they didn't even rehearse. That site has a huge amount of visitors these days. Oh wait, "I know Satisfaction, Start Me Up and eh... Sympathy. Click click click. They SHOULD do those I've ALWAYS wanted to hear those!" The Stones probably pick five semi warhorses out of the list and THEN look which of those has the most votes. Like

I wonder if Cubans had any access to Stones music in the 60-ies and 70-ies, or a relevant opportunity to learn about the legacy in later years (like in eastern Europe after the iron curtain came down). If people don't know the big hits, could a stadium be filled? In 2012 my wife and I travelled about Cuba for the honeymoon and I can't recall hearing much music from outside the isla

Quotethomas guitar Is they any chance to buy tickets in front of the venue like 95 and 99 i am still looking for one ticket If you mean the at the ticketwindow, I wouldn't bank on it. Usually with Pinkpop this works, but this year demand is extreme. If you still don't have a ticket by Saturday I would call the venue and ask if there is anything available. If you're in the area

QuotePhillyFAN Repetition makes perfection. I would assume trying to remember the hundreds of songs they have written would be difficult at their ages. It would appear there is a method for the repetition of the same songs. No doubt they are easy to remember. IF it is the same songs at every concert, with maybe one different song thrown in each concert is enough for them. Well put. It's t

Tickets for Düsseldorf have been available through official sellers continuously for the last couple of weeks. If this is to put off scalpers, it seems to have been succesful.

QuoteNate This idea is ludicrous you might as well of suggested having Christmas without Santa Claus Nate Haha, I don't wanna get too religious, but my Christmasses have been without Santa Claus having a noticeable part for my entire life. Or: which was first, Christmas or Santa Claus? Santa is not Keith, he's Blondie. There's been plenty of Christmasses before him.

Advise on travelling by train Getting there On Pinkpop weekend all trains from the Amsterdam/Utrecht region to Limburg Province will be direct to Heerlen: besides the usual Schiphol-Heerlen intercity service also the Amsterdam-Central to Maastricht service will go directly to Heerlen, instead of Maastricht. No change necessary at Sittard. This means that from Utrecht there will be direct t

Leaving out the old series which never get boring (Like Seinfeld or Fawlty Towers) I'd say: - The Blacklist - House MD - Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee - Curb Your Enthousiasm - Inspector Lewis - Harry and Paul

It was discussed back in 2007 but the youtube clip seems to be private these days. Anyway, it might not have been his fault. Here's a contribution I put then:

Let's stick to the topic then. What was the last time they did a Chuck Berry song? Little Queenie in 1998? That was not as powerful as their CB covers 20 years earlier. This is great, but I don't know if the song would work for the Stones:

It's a bit silly of course. I think it was supposed to be a new Start Me Up, with double entendre lyrics and a signature riff. And it's quite hard to tell why it didn't succeed in that ambition, because indeed it has a signature riff and silly lyrics. Probably the fact that it was written at the age of 60 has something to do with it. They get away with playing SMU over and

Quotestereomanic Quoteerikjjf Quotemtaylor Doubt they will bring any big stage to Europe since half of the shows are Festival stages, one is in Isreal, two arenas and three stadiums - at bit wild to make a new big stage for 3 shows. Out of the 14 shows, 4 are festivals (Lisbon, Landgraaf, Werchter, Roskilde) 1 is an amphitheatre with a permanent stage (Berlin) 7 are football stadiums (Oslo,

After May, I don't think there's much going on in the bulbfields... But if you're into typical Dutch atmosphere and you wanne see windmills and wooden shoes, try Kinderdijk or Zaanse Schans. They'll fix you some tulips as well. Anyway, we're drifting off...

QuoteJumpinjackflash59 My feeling is "for 14 shows only don't expect a huge expensive stage" My feeling too, especially since at the two festivals (Pinkpop and Werchter) they'll probalby use the festivalstage at hand anyway, like they did at Glastonbury last year.

QuoteRobertS I am planning to go on one of Rolling Stones Show this summer. Which venue would be the best to experience the show? FOS 1 in Dusseldorf or Stehplatz Innenraum in Berlin? I have the feeling that you're not asking about stages, are you? You're just asking about show-experience in general...

QuoteWroclaw Red Hot Chilly Peppers were considered "sold out" at 50K exactly (I know as I sold my tickets just before I entered and the next day went to a killer grill restaurant...). Was that Mike's Place at the Boulevard by any chance? It's a non-kosher expat restaurant and bar next to the US ambassy. We absolutely loved Mike's when we visited the Holy Land back in

There was a bit of footage (I think promotional, or from a newsnetwork, or maybe a complete bootleg) that showed, from below the stage, Mick preparing and being shot up. I must have seen it on youtube somewhere, but I can't find it anymore. I'll try again later tonight. Or has anyone got a clue?

QuoteBliss QuoteMockJigger ... All of this seems to be true. There is a long thread on Shidoobee from before which details this. Although entertaining maybe, it might be worth suggesting not to consider this kind of gossipping to be a form of journalism, but rather fiction or a conspiracy theory, especially from someone who used to post on iorr by the name of superrevvy.

Meanwhile, Pinkpop regulars are complaining that Stonesfans, who do not mind buying a weekendticket just for going on Saturday, are not only restricting the regulars' chances of getting a weekendticket, but will also be responsible for an empty festivalsite on Sunday and Monday, because most of them will already be back home by then.

Well that is true... but to me it was always part of the experience. In 1999 i paid less than 40 euros to see the incredible BtB castle. Now I pay up to 150 to see them in some boring, off the shelf festival scaffolding stage. Oh well, at least the setlist has more variety. Oh wait, no it doesn't. Have we gone mad? Yes we have .
