Quote71Tele Paul is the best bassist, if you consider what a bassist properly does. I love The Who, but unfortunately the Ox got a bad case of Lead Guitar Syndrome in his later years. Not sure why anyone would think playing lead on a bass with a super distorted sound would make anyone a better bassist, but I'm sure he was better at whatever it is he did. His work through Who By Numbers wa

After doing some reading about Bill W following this thread I must admit my appreciation for him is somewhat reduced... I used to think high oh him with his "I personally had enough of the none creating touring only RS so I quit but I wish them all good I'm just heading my own way. Bye Bye" attitude. "Didnt want to play Jumpin Jack Flash for the rest of my life" he said.

QuoteRollin92 Quotestonehearted As to an earlier comment, I don't think Bill is fed up with the Stones just frustrated on occasions. He vents his frustrations to the press but even then when talking about the bands career and legacy he has a glint of pride in his eye. It would be more accurate to say that while his image is of that "old looking undertaker type of geezer who most lik

Quoterollingon Quotemarko and coming to Finland in november/december is a bad idea,,economy going down faster than ever, and on xmas time, very few would have cash to pay more that 150euro tickets. They would not sell out even Hartwall Arena for 300e tickets. Next year(summer) is a better chance. I think one concert would sell out with a price range from 100 - 600 euros from nosebleed seats to to

QuoteRG What happened with the intro of JJF.. Sounds bad to me.. Too slow, like Keith is searching for the right strings..?! Is it from the first or second show? Was there at the first, can't remember it.. So I guess it's from july 13th. The ITunes download is from HY1 actually. HP2 JJF was a highlight!

Dont like the 1972-3 versions. Sound live a cover to me.... 1969 are better but also of the same spirit of 1972. I think actually that the Copa 2006 version is good:visually as well as musically. HP2 seems to me as the best of the last tour. Glastonbury version was lifeless.

Quotesvt22 QuoteDoxa This starts to get worrying. Since the source is always optimistic BV, and his tone is rather negative regarding the shows later this year, there seemingly has happened some rapid change of plans. However how beautiful it sounds that they did it for to record a new album, I guess any realism will kick that scenario out. I mean, if they really have planned to continue to tour,

QuoteKarlos123 But besides that, I don't get why 50&Counting doesn't have legacy to continue without a new album. I'd like a new album, but I don't need new songs live. I think Europe deserves some 50-celebration-shows as well...Just touring the US and London is incomplete for me for a proper celebration. Touring Europe with 50&Counting and start recording next year wo

QuoteDoc I was at the HP2 show and when I saw Keef leaving the stage last, after a final look at the audience, I had a feeling this might be the end. Charlie was kinda waiting for him and they walked away together. Strangely I felt the same - but no so much because of any stage gesture: more cause the gig was great, atmosphere was great and we know that the Stones wont give many more (if any)

Quotecrumbling_mice He's alive and playing and looking better than he has for some time, how he copes with the end of this tour will be the determining factor. I'm hoping he goes back to rehab and continues this with a view to further stones work. The worry is he has picked up some nasty habits whilst on tour and goes on a bender with his money he earned. Ronnie, Mick and Charlie im sur

QuoteRG No 'Sticky' mention in IORR Forum means No European tour..? No it means the thread is no longer serving its original purpose (rumors, news as opposed to speculations, wishes and theoretical arguments.) Anyway: check the following dates/quotes from last years news feed. Might give you a clue about the pattern of "how the next leg of a tour is being rumored/announced&qu

I delate my replies, to not cause more confusion. - Doxa Yeppp... and pretty much with the spirit of the Rolling Stones - while some parts of the live discussion were botched (the scarf mixed with my typing fingers) we just generously used the overdub ("Edit") options and now the immortal version is as smooth

Charlie bombed on the HP pair of shows! if you listen to a rather quiet song, like GS, both in the official ITunes as well as on Youtube clips, you can hear his remarkable work all along the way! (actually the HP#2 GS version seem to be a result of great performance but also a very good rehearsing. RW and KR do both a great job in the "buildup" of peaks this song is so typical with, and
