QuoteAquamarine Wroclaw, I love all your pics, I'm going to save them all and pretend they were from the 6th. Be my guest - I do the same with the HP July 6th version of GS (at least the one taken by the person who stood near the fence infront of the catwalk).... I am one of those that walked around with "virtual blue balls" after failing to get tickets with the notorious &qu

Wow - thats really going deep into the beatles inventory. I man most of these songs (Day tripper and one more perhaps excluded) I knew before he was giving, but not so many in one occasion. I really like him for that - unlike George (and Lennon for the decade he lived past the beatles) he knows the crowd is hungry for beatles - certainly since they never played live in the "Modern touring ag

QuoteLimbostone I loved the show and the crowd too actually. Didn't notice any unfriendlyness but then again I was a bit backwards into T3. Quite relaxed. At the final bows the fact that the end of the show also marked the end of my summer holidays, and somewhat the end of a lifestyle (I'll be a father next November and will have to reset priorities), even managed to bring a tear to

Busily engaged in reading each and every thread in the IORR forum - learning, understanding, considering. Preparing for the bands next closed doors seminar about "The RS 50&counting 2nd leg in light of recent lessons learned from reading the IORR forum" (1st seat - "SMU opening - an input by an artist or an old mans sloppy screwup?". 2nd seat - historic perspective of the

Now that the gigs hangover starting to fade I find myself hitting some funny/strange conclusions, as well as burning to my memory some cherished memories: 1. Spent some time searching though the various Youtube clips – I thought I had an awful position (far end of the stage – able to actually see MJ and an occasional KR and RW when they visited the corner or the cat walk) but seeing some clips

I thought she was awful – bizarre in a tasteless way when considering the context. Just had a feeling "she doesn't belong". Florence Welsh was excellent: fresh, natural and confident in her performing abilities. Great voice too. Anyway… I'm too much of a big fan of the MT 1972/3 versions to really pass judgment.

Dat mountain has too much of a limited "iconic lifetime exhibition" – the Pantheon is much wider so I may suggest to drop the Mt. Rushmore idea and adopt the alternative (and by far better when judging the linkage between its location & the subjects) ELGIN MARBLES aka "Parthenon pediments": WESTern frieze: The Who (my favorites) Pink Floyd The Rolling Stones The Bea

Judging from the Youtube clips I've seen from last week I think todays gig was better. It was awfully hot so I decided I should catch a place on the "Ronnie" far end of the stage. You cant see much from there unless Jagger/Keith walk to either of the stage corners (which Jagger did alot)+ the cat walk. Looks as if the organizers predicted alot of "casualties" and the g

Quotelaertisflash Excellent reviews, folks. I mean ... lucky bastards! But what about clips? Not yet? My position was not good and the sound quality is bad but since the good filmakers are now asleep/drunk/off the internet, maybe you will find some comfort in my clips which I'm uploading at this very moment:

What a show!!!! Clean sound and playing - Jagger was god on speed! due to the terrible hot weather I had to stay at the far end of the stage where water were accessible (one of my sons were with me) and witnessed the lines of people (mostly elderly) people taken for medical care due to dihadriation. My older son infiltrated his was to the front and had a lifetime experience. Even managed to get a

Seemed today as if there were quite alot of people in London wearing stones T-Shirts: could have seen many in Hyde Park (who quite like me took advantage of the last minute free tickets for Friday show and came to enjoy the place and/or to inspect the site). Saw many on the streets and stations. I was in some meeting in some dealers office and when Doom of Gloom was played on the radio I joked an

I really love the post 1981 JJF live versions. Especially when Ronniw Wood is high on the mix. Satisfaction is hard to duplicate to the live without loosing much of its charm. GS is the only song, I guess, which I love equally in 4 different versions (studio, 1969 tour, 1972 STP and 1973 Europe) - its a totally different song in each of the cases. The Stones are great on the studio, an

Quotestonesmog Dear Rolling Stones, just wanted to say you were right about Miss You & I was wrong. It was the one song the youngsters were still singing as they danced away from the show. Thank you for a great show and particularly All Down The Line & Bitch but everything really. Thank you for the kind people who posted such great quality film. I've watched "Gimme Shelter&quo

Did see Keith smoking at least once this show (at YT offcourse). I didnt see him smoking at any of the shows earlier this year or in 2012 (RW did, however). I wonder if this was just a coincidence or was he indeed nervous and needed a fag to relax...

If to sum up the Keith & chords episode: MJ said about a week ago they will reenact the HP 1969 setlist. WE assumed he referred to the song lists. HE meant that the they will reenact the 1969 KR guitar sound...

QuoteLadykiller Quotetoomuchforme Here is SMU The tune, which Keith played wrong, remind me a little bit on the intro of 'Pink Panther'. The guitar sounds totally out of tune - a bit like the sound electric guitars make when played when not plugged into the amp..

Lets hope the Elvis analogy would be it... don't want him to become a 2nd Bob Dylan... (BTW - Keith Moon would be the best analogy for Keith Richards I think: heavy use of Drugs and Alcohol taking its toll with the result being a slow, sometimes out of tune, legend. Off course Keith Moon was barely a kid when he could hardly stay in line at those 2 final shows in 1976/7, whilh KR is... OLD!)

Back in the late 60s or 1970s bands/performers such as Hendrix, Jefferson airplane or the doors got crowds turning their backs on them (especially in Europe) for getting on stage and giving nothing different than what KR gives now. However back then they were not holy relics/living legends, but rather great bands who gave lousy performance often being drunk/stoned. Dont think anyone these days wo

OK one more question for those who used the Tube/bus at the end but not running like hell to get out. Our nice hotel for the london gig is actually at Luton airport - great super low price but this depend of how easy it would take to get to St. Pancras from HP. Getting a hotel that is 2 stations from Marble Arch means adding some 50 pounds for that night + adding a checkin/out. So: was it reasona

Good idea but Florence W. was just perfect! I wonder whats the inner group politics behind these issues... I mean - surely there is much of it. When do they invite a guest to take the lead on GS etc. (much like how come they finally added MT for a 2nd song but only to give a marginal 3rd guitar support on Satisfaction). I would really like it to have a charismatic guest and not the Lisa F. thi

OH dear... the suffer we take... I feel as if I get prepared to climb the Everest - and I'm usually not the worried type. I guess we should walk up till coming across "green boots" to know the peak is at hand, ha? Need now to check wheres the closest Burger King is, stuff ourselves with that eatable poison, rush to the gates, hold hands as if we are on the way to the life boats on

Really liked the Gimme Shelter version! am a great fan of the STP tour versions but it has been long since I let down my hope to ever see that one live. The 2012 O2 version with Florence W. was a bomb but usually I'm a bit frustrated by the post 1975 versions with LF screaming and MJ doing these body gestures at that time, but I guess its just me. Anyway this version was really really good!

As a long time fan of both the Stones and The Who I guess I'm more used to the fact the two groups, while still live and kicking, are ... how shall we say that? they are in the same age as my parents. Saw the who over a month ago in Dublin - while Townshend was never a supermodel, RD looks strange being old... much like Keith he too managed to carry his energetic appearance well into his 50s

GL -thank for that! A question - the "secret" area you refer to - it that the section you marked as "stand"? I've got this situation of having to plan the best compromise (13th show) of finding the best spot that in made of: 1. coming late enough to have my two boys (9 + 11) "fed" properly. 2. coming early enough to find a spot that would be good in term
