Never noticed JL actually, personally, admitted he was a serial women beater which is what drove him into preaching exactly for the opposite. Makes him look better (obviously it was common knowledge that who he was, but I didn't know he openly talked about it) and some of his more "emotionally driven" female worshipers look rather bad (as a self redeemed woman beater might be seen

Saw the Stones in Barcelona during the Steel Wheels tour. Was only 16 at the time. Actually worked a whole year flipping burgers for that. Saw then in Buenos Aires in 2006: wasnt a special trip as I was there on family visit anyway. Saw them in HP#2 - cost me about 3500$ for the whole thing, including my 2 older boys. The worst ever hassle I had for a gig was actually The Who in Dublin

John Lennon is the wet dream of any "List of # best/worst ever &*%$#'s" freaks. An extremely assertive person: Lennon and his opinions were like Keith Moon to Drumming and Hendrix to guitar showmanship: all 3 were great in doing that - the best as far as it goes for giving a show. All 3 died in young age just as they were starting their way down so as sad as their premature tra

QuoteGazza QuoteMILKYWAY QuoteRockman best opportunity for the piss break ... People still came back in their millions next time around and to the best of my knowledge no one is reported to have walked out in disgust. Yeah but they still played JJF as the anchor "all can sing along and cheer while Keith poses". JJF/Satisfaction, SMU/IORR, Angie/Ruby Tuesday etc. are pairs of s

Really loved this Documentary - was great to see some angles of the performance that I've hardly noticed when was there is flesh... like the great video-art work that went during Gimmie Shelter or the fact Lisa Fisher conducted (or pretended to) the Choir during YCAGWYW. The usual blend of young great looking gals sitting on top of some dudes shoulders (I guess that the rather aggressive

QuoteAquamarine I don't know how you all keep straight which version was which night! I was so into it, jumping up and down during each song, that I couldn't have told you any details about them afterwards. I recall many details of the 13th JJF since I've spent over an hour on a thamslink train to Luton on the night of 13/14 July., standing, and had little to do but to watch

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteWroclaw The soundtrack is almost for sure then one of the 13th (will have to check later and compare). The 6th version (ITunes) has MJ doing a "wooo-wooo" as the song fades. This one doesn't. The part where RW approaches the left (crowd wise) corner of the stage and KR the right corner, making the people go wild with cheers, was on the 13th as I c

BTW - a few more thoughts on the JJF: 1. might be wrong but I think this is the version of the 13th! This might suggest that the official issue in Nov. might include "the opposite" blend of the 6th and 13th versions compared to the ITunes issue? might be a good surprise. 2. Great filming, artistically I mean, but I feel as if it is "too artistic"... something that would

Got the app's message and immediately went to open.... Guess I'm not the only one who noticed the retro shooting angles... Keith and the drinks/cups as a gesture to the famous Keif & COke/Wiskey cans/bottle on the amp. taken in 1972/3.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteWroclaw A bit off topic but I wonder if anyone ever found out: how come in 1970 and 1971 - with the exception of that early 1970 EU tour in Sweden, GS was never included in the setlist? was that just a coincidence? deliberate choice (curse of Altamont)? It wasn't a staple in the setlist in 1969 either. thats cause it hasnt been issued during most of it. even

QuoteIGTBA Yes. And I agree Keith's guitar intro is genius. Many times I've thought "how did he come up with that?". Hendrix did many amazing things with a guitar, but for me, nothing stays so fresh and beautiful to hear as Kieth's relatively simple intro - and his rhythm that follows. I've listened to probably over a hundred versions of GS and thousands of times

GS is one of those songs you learn to appreciate only after you cross a certain age. I remember times when I couldnt understand whats it all about: the admiration etc. but now days its seen by me as the masterpiece by the RS. Many of the RS "greatest songs" are superb but you do not get the sence of 'em being genious. GS is definetly the one that should appeal to any none stones f

Yeah... Shana Tova.... and also the coming of Yom Kippur when Tylorian's, Brian Jones followers and just Stones fans with no agenda all forgive each other and ask god (well... at least the Jewish God ) to forgive them for all the fights and sarcasm - which they could surely re start one day after...

The Who at 1969-70 were the ultimate greatest live act around. Not long after 1970 Keith Moon started weakening, something that effected their unique live act. I can put any of their fairly descent recorded concert of 1969-70 in the playlist and listen to it from start to end, enjoying any minute. No other band can get me to feel that. Not even the Stones with their 1972 STP gigs.

No one will ever know what turn in the Beatles history would have been taken had they tried to adopt their live acts to the standards of the post Monterey 1967 pop festival standards. Both JL and GH quite hated the live act thing (both quite rarely gave any live performances post 1966 - I think it was a tour + 1/4 of a tour for Harrison and just a handful of live shows, no tours at all, for Lenno

"On The Beatles Anthology video, there is a brief interview with a young girl in the audience attending The Beatles' second appearance at Shea Stadium . When asked why The Beatles did not sell out the venue this time, she replied that they were not as popular any more and that she preferred Herman's Hermits. "

I was at HP2 and since here ar IORR the so called "scarf me up" intro was heavily discussed for nearly a week by then (I guess only the Why did the Roman empire fell" question could get more theories as an answer than the "what happened at SMU"...) I was somewhat expecting that moment so could definetly hear the wreck that was Keiths guitar doing for the first reefs...
