QuoteThommie ...of the L.A.Friday version of Gimme Shelter. Is there any better version of that song? Is there any better version of any song? Brussels + London 1st (1972) + L&G Fort W. (1972) + ALtamont in a loop. Thats the best. Anyway - I really really liked both HP versions very much.

Quotecorriecas QuoteO2 QuoteStonesfan16 Is it only Mick who wants just a few shows? Yes... mick only wants a few shows, because sadly he dont believe in the band. Bullshite. Like BV has mentioned already, and the US shows as proof, 16 to 18 shows in 2 months are the maximum for the Stones at the moment. Nothing wrong with that, because nearly all shows in USA and UKwere great and very succes

QuoteDandelionPowderman A deal I had to agree on, for her to join me at the first Hyde Park-show I had to visit Legoland, Windsor, SUNDAY in what seemed to be a terribly hot day even in standard countries that have normal weather, not England... Cost me some 200 pounds total + possible skin cancer in the future, but the boy actually survived the 5 hours in Hyde Park the day before without

QuoteHis Majesty Quotesvt22 QuoteHis Majesty These replacements could have been anyone, but the true Rolling Stones was gone forever no matter what these replacements did. It's called nostalgia, get over it. There's nothing to get over. My point is not about nostalgia at all either. Let's say in 1969 that The Beatles replaced Harrison with Clapton as a full on member, that

Aint much quiet over'ere... Just played the HP 2013 live gig's YCAGWW for the 25615 time and doing the silly smile as recalling RW "wow thats an effort" face as he does his small solo (people at work stopped asking me whats so funny... all know "He is in the Stones gig now and better not disturb him"). And with A/C in the office, as opposed to the HP July 13th hell,

Quotemichaelsavage QuoteJohnnyBGoode Lennon and McCartney have topped a poll of the world’s best-ever songwriters. MusicRadar ran the survey as part of their Songwriting Week, celebrating the “most crucial – and potentially the most lucrative – music-making discipline of them all.” And while the Beatles icons hitting the number one position might be regarded as a foregone conclusion, th

I really like Bill Wiemanan's attitude, which somewhat reminds me of George Harrisons... Even though as a "fan" who naturally wish "his" group would keep the ideal set forever I would not like his "Had enough of being a RS and thats that" attitude. Since reading some interviews with him (or seeing them) I came to think he is most likely, out of all "7 stone

I do not think any reasonable person who knows a bit of British music history would continue relating to the "Lennon & McCartney" label as more than what it is... commercial label. For the vast majority of the Beatles repertoire it is known exactly who was the sole writer of any given song. With very few exceptions Paul McCartney would play in his concerts only "Lennon & Mc

Hmmmm.... The hair.... The outfits.... The ridicules camera angles... God the 80s were crap! This is even more embarrassing than The Who "Tommy" late 80s tour. My first real rock concert experiences were just as the 80s were about to finish. At least I know I only missed what was going on the 70s and that the 80s were a good time to miss things.

QuoteStoneage OK. Let's assume Goo is right. Then taylor would have earned approximately $4000 x 2 songs x 20 gigs which adds up to $160 000 for the whole tour. Not so bad? He cancelled a tour of Australia (which was when I knew for sure he will be with the Stones also for 2013 - the announcement went on his Facebook page) which would have gained him some income too. Personally I suspect i

QuoteGOO He got 3-5 thousand per gig At least for the post 2012 gigs, if this is true, it makes him a bad businessman (unless he has something emotional with re joining the Stones). The MT re joining the Stones made a big thing about this minitour and helped the Stones in branding it as more than a "just for the money" tour. I mean comeon... people who bought full hospitality packages

Quoteschillid Or possibly a way to make people buy the official "fixed" release? You credit Keith with too much self control. I think that if the corporate would have wanted to do so, they would have assigned Charlie for the "screwup" job.

QuoteRoll73 Quotecrumbling_mice Whatever, he's having one strange trip, God knows what he is seeing and hearing! Maybe he's having some kind of flash forward and he's hearing Keith's intros to Start me up at both the Hyde Park gigs simultaneously. More likely he foresees the fact Mick Taylor would quit the bank at its peak, comeback at 1981 for a half reunion show but unau

Quotebrownsugar86 The great thing about Ronnie joining is that keith and the guys started genuinely smiling a lot more in the photographs. The moody posing was great in the earlier years at cementing the bad boy image, but would of got boring without ron's influence. Quoterollmops Bought it. Like it except for hearing Chuck's "1,2,3". Why are they keep it on record? It maybe useful on stage for the band but doesn't add anything for us listeners; on the contrary it's completely anticlimactic.@#$%& that shit! Quotecrholmstrom Bill's a great bass player. Supposedly he was given the opportunity to come back more than once but declined because of travel. Daryl does a good job. It all comes down to who Charlie wants to play with, as it should. As saying "Bill" is much easier and shorter than saying "Daryl" I suspect Charlie REALLY prefers DJ over BW... had they been equal he wou

Wyman and Taylor seem to hold different views. Wyman has a strong personality - cynical, down to earth type of person. More than once I said to my self that his "interview" persona is quite similar to that of George Harrison RIP - little talking, but saying much in between the lines in regards to his old band. He said many times that while he is proud with his RS career he wanted to
