QuoteJN99 I just looked at that picture of the Croke Park locals and thought, how sad - they are all acting like old fogeys when the band that's asking to play may be made up largely of their "elders"! LOL Where's their spirit, sense of adventure, sense of rock n roll!? They've lost it along the line somewhere. Probably Daniel O'Donnell fans.

Can I just record a small amendment to Green Lady's otherwise accurate diagram. Most of Tier 2 did not adjoin the catwalk. There was a strip running back from the catwalk which contained the camera rostrums and was also a base for security and first aid personnel etc. The left hand side of Tier 2 adjoined this strip. I was on the barrier and by leaning over I had a decent view of the s

QuotepaulywaulIt is entirely irrelevant that Elton has cancelled the gig, the fact remains that the ticket vendor has failed in their obligation to get what the customer bought from them in time for the event. Absolutely. Free or not, you still need the ticket to get in.

QuoteBowieStone Quotenobodyimportant . Now Elton's cancelled, I've been offline all day and had no chance to get a free ticket. Why the hell couldn't they have offered me one of those? Free tickets are still available. Just checked it for you. Thanks, but they said yesterday that they had reached capacity and it's come up "tickets unavailable" every time I

Karma didn't wait long to bite AEG on the arse. Elton's appendix must have cost them a fortune.

I'm bloody furious now - I won 2 tickets for last Sunday in one of their free draws, but they didn't email me to tell me till Saturday afternoon. I of course was at the Stones, and was unable to claim the tickets because they required photo ID, which I didn't have with me. I live too far from London to nip home and get it. I've explained all this to them by email, an

QuotepaulywaulHuman nature being what it is, I personally think the flood of complaints is regrettably going to turn into a trickle of feedback forms filled in and sent to them, and secondly - I can't really imagine that there'll be any particularly noteworthy response from AEG. Not that I'm sceptical of course .............. Agree on both points. Firstly because in the end

QuoteAdams Haha, will shorts with big side pockets work for smuggling in bottles of water? I always do that. That's the idea. Bring a big carrier bag with some random stuff in it to deflect attention from your pockets.

QuotegotdablouseThe issue of course is going to be food since you can't everything in, not even cookies (really ridiculous!) so it's ok if you get in at 3.30pm...although I guess you can stuff yourself before the gates open at 12.30...yeah that's a thought, and smuggle in a couple of cereal bars. I had no difficulty in smuggling in 3 bottles of my drink of choice I deployed the

The drawing is not quite 100% correct, as the back part of what is labelled as the catwalk is a security corridor which also houses the camera rostrums. For anyone like me who is short, a good spot is beside the barrier of the security strip. You then have an uninterrupted view across the space to the stage, as near to central as possible - plus something to lean on! I had a Tier 2 ticket

QuoteGreen Lady My attempt to draw the layout of the Hyde Park arena - the three things marked X are three enormous sound/film structures that block the view for miles, and therefore have a screen behind them so you can watch what you can't see. The thing that caused the difficulties is a big railed-off security area that runs practically the whole width of the field. I assumed at firs

QuoteBowieStone Tier 2 was definitely worth it if you wanted to walk around during the day.You walk in 15 minutes before the show kicks off, place yourself at the back of the tier and you have a great view. So if you don't have it in you to wait for 7 hours: Tier2 will do just fine. They really fixed this after the complaints. My thoughts exactly. Tier 2 was a good uncrowded spot no

Way back when the Tier 1 & 2 problems first blew up, someone on here (apologies that I can't remember who) drew a suggested plan and sent it off to AEG, who rejected it. Ironically the plan we seem to have ended up with is pretty similar. Half(ish) the FOS devoted to Tier 3, with the rest to Tier 1 with Tier 2 behind. They haven't adopted the suggestion of making Tier 3 FOS

Quotegotdablouse Honestly, who knows at this point what the correct map is because the instructions in the email SPECIFICALLY mention for the Stones that T1, T2 and Unwind enter via the SOUTH GATE, consistent with the map in the email, i.e. and not the one for the event on their site : where T1, T2 and UNWIND enter via the WEST GATE Hence my question to Aquamarine to find out where she'

QuoteBastion QuoteWild Slivovitz I've read somewhere that the curfew @ Hide Park starts @ 22:30, therefore a two-hour set should be expectable. Moreover, according to the newspapers last year Springsteen's microphones have been silenced only after the 22:30 curfew had been exceeded by half an hour. I'm pretty sure they cut him off at 22:40. 2240 is correct. I was there and loo

QuoteMartinB on this map it does not look like a great view for T2 (and most of T1) It looks OK to me provided that it is not rammed full. There is supposed to be space for people to sit and chill out all day.

Banning people from bringing in food & drink is very petty. Didn't happen last year. Clearly the intention is to force everyone to buy from onsite sellers. This attitude always makes me determined not to! I feel it's an infringement on my civil liberties!

QuoteAdrian-L QuoteManofwealthandtaste QuoteAdrian-L QuoteStoneswolf damn, bloody city rules in London for curfire, hope the wil continue to play unplugged until midnight Hyde Park is a residental area. Strict curfew and understandably so. If rock bands want to play past 22.30, then play at sites NOT in residential areas with strict curfews. ...simples. Wasn't like that for Live8 in

QuoteBowieStone Quotebeepee2 QuoteBowieStone On the full event line up page: Set times 20:30 - 22:15 I guess we'll get a full show and they'll break curfew. There's a very credible possibility that they will pull the plug if the concert overruns, they did that with Macca and Springsteen. Yes, but didn't they pull the plug at 11pm? (Curfew is 10.30). No, it was abo

I bought Tier 2 specifically so that 1. I wouldn't have to turn up early to guarantee a good spot, and 2. I wouldn't have to sit there all day protecting that spot. Seeing as much of the Tier 2 area will have next to no view of the stage, I've gained nothing. The only thing to hope is that they've been very generous with the space, and that no one will need to st

QuoteSeb91 QuoteBeantownBoss The bst hyde park app has stones paying for 8:45 to 10:15 which must be wrong.....seems way to short. Anyone have any idea I'm hoping its wrong but Hyde Park does have a really early curfew, Pearl Jam played a shorter set than they usually do when I saw them there in 2010. Curfew is 2230, definitely. (I was at the Springsteen fiasco last year.)
