QuoteNaturalust Sticky Fingers this summer (on topic for this thread) and don't miss this tour? That can only mean they are going to play the record live! I don't want to get too excited unless I misinterpreted things, but damn this is good stuff. If this is also related to the closing of the No MT thread, even more exciting... Am I dreaming? peace They are going to play

QuotePietro The song came out during the miserable depths of the Bush-Cheney years. I appreciated the song. My favorite rock singer couldn't resist taking a swipe at those morons. I needed that. It helped me through those dark times. I hadn't thought about the song in some time, and seeing the words "Sweet Neo Con" today made me sick all over again. And another Bush on th

QuoteKoschi You should not try too hard You will get it when the time is right... (btw til now it is quite boring for me too) I doubt it. It's outta high rotation now and relegated to give it a burl when I get sick of whatever else it is I am playing. Currently the Stones lovely goats head soup l.p.

QuoteRollingFreak It will 100% only be one song. Despite the fact that they are legends, I've never seen anyone gets more than one song. I agree it'll probably be BluzDude, although I'd love it to be Thunderstruck. uh huh!

I love almost all of Dylan's work, especially his latter decade or so. I bought Shadows in the Night the Thursday before last weekend. Played it NON STOP for 4 days.... ...trying, TRYING to get it. Kudos for him still putting stuff out, but this is just plain BORING. Dullsville. Sorry.

I actually recall coming home fairly late at night about 30 or so years ago and turning on the TV. Must have been about midnight. We only had channels 2, 7 and 9 in those days. There was a special on that was The Stones in concert and the song being played, in all its live ragged glory, was Star Star. Before it got to the chorus I thought... What's going to happen then? Well... We got all

Great gnarly tune. One of my all time favourites. I LOVE the early, developing Stones and THIS is one of the better ones. They would give their songs air. This is full of nice slashy (not slashING) guitars AND air.... A tasty track.

The Stones by numbers...plus there is just something off, odd, about the production. To me it just doesn't SOUND like the rest of the album. The LP sounds warm and deep, Star sounds thin and sort of, I don't know, wheezy. The playing is fine, it's the Stones, the lyrics are a great representation of the band of that era, but the sound...nup, just a wee bit underdone somehow,

Found it via a link on a site (no longer running) that used to be run in Australia by an old friend of mine, Jaime C********. A few years before the Licks tour, can't remember exact;y when. Jaime used to hook me up with Crystal Cats....and download a heap of boots for me. He now works at a record company in IT.... ...sort of like the pyromaniac running a fire station!!! ;-)

Stella. Love the recorded studio track and all live versions I have heard. Was the soundtrack to my youth - this, JJF, Child of the Moon - holy mother of god - they are all great. Posted before, and I know I must be odd - but I like the Hyde Park 2013 show the best....yep, even better that GYYYO and all other versions I have ... the way Keith goes out onto the runway whilst driving the

From Taylor's perspective....SHOULD he tour with them if asked again? Maybe he has set himself up a wee bit better financially due to 2013-2015. He might say NO, not for one song. If it were me, and I now had financial independence, I MIGHT hold it over The Stones to give me a 3 -4 song mini-set in the middle of the show. I would not want to come back on stage for the acoustic guitar o

Thanks for posting! Yep, surprisingly with Jeff it it sounded a bit "stalemate" to me, as if they din't want to make music together. Sometimes, great musicians just can't make the magic togeth

Sooner or later the Stones MIGHT show up for a new years day show, I would not miss it, and that hotel is just "lovely" you know. Just check out Tripadvisor and you will understand. For those who are about to do the same, please think twice though... In fact, don't eve

A great song that I am amused to find I had never taken the time to read/find all the lyrics to before so thanks for publishing them in the lead post. I knew it was inspired by Angela Davis, but never having read the lyrics in full before NOW, I didn't appreciate just how deep the words were/are. Great, Thanks. Love the interplay between Jagger's singing and Keith's guitaring

QuoteDandelionPowderman How can a good, funky, grooving rocker be crap? It's just not good. It's repetitious and dull. The playing is nice, but nice playing does not make a good song. From the band that gave us Shelter, Sympathy, HTW, JJF, AS YEARS GO BY, YCAGWYW, Rambler, Brown Sugar, bitch, Wild horses, out of time, angie, paint it black, and a sqillion others, Negrita is just f
