I still haven't heard these songs yet (mine hasn't arrived yet), so I can't opine on them, but as others have said, they're outtakes. If you didn't yearn for a CD of Outtakes, then you should have just bought the 2009 remaster and not paid for the bonus disc. You weren't forced to buy it, and there are other options when making your "Some Girls" purchase.

I noticed Gob's version of "Paint It, Black" on the page with the other covers. I'm not sure about that one. It worked nice during the end credits of the 2004 mini-series adaptation of 'Salem's Lot, but just hearing it by itself I'm not feeling it.
