If it's any indication : At amazon top sales, some girls is doing better than Justin Bieber's christmas album.

Amazon means nothing, it represents 7% of the total US sales, the big number comes from Itunes which represents about 40-45% of the total. I don't care about Amazon numbers at all, its irrelevant for billboard's chart.

The album is doing worse than the expected, so far it debuted at #58 in UK, #25 in the Netherlands and it didn't make the Top 100 in Australia or Ireland.

made quite a comeback in just one day when it was hardly selling and the very future of the band was at stake.

Well, that's updated hourly. An hour ago this was true. But now it has dropped to #30, and was overtaken by Bieber's Christmas album which is at #29. Maybe in an hour it will be ahead again.

tour's on...tour's off...tour's on...off...on....off...on....this could even get annoying at some point...

Did the Exile reissue sell "great" or "good"? Or did it sell "poor" or "poorly"? What defines any of those? Billboard charts? Is Billboard relevant anymore?

Does it matter if it sells good or bad? It matters that the Stones take the effort to release new stuff. Let's not discourage them to release more stuff by running it down.

Not to me. But probably some people seem to like it if it sells good. Others seem to like it when it sells bad. The world is a playground smiling smiley

Well, since you ask it depends on how you phrase it. 'Exile' either sold well or poorly or sales of 'Exile' were good or poor. in the first case well and poorly are adverbs augmenting the verb sold. In the second case good and poor are adjectives augmenting the noun sales. As to the relevance of Billboard I couldn't care less. What matters is if one likes the record or not. Here endeth the lesson...

So, in general, what you're basically saying is, overall, it depends on the day and the amount that, essentially, the definition is kind of based on a point of view. In this case, perhaps it sold wellly.

According to the sales team at Best Buy, Some Girls is selling extremely well. They volunteered that tidbit and I was pleasantly surprised! Although I did buy it along with the DVD, this 1978 tour and shows were not my personal favorites. I am glad to hear it's doing so well, however..next, STICKY FINGERS' outtakes will be reissued from the sacred vaults and THAT ONE I will run out to buy!
