Personally I love it as much as the first time I heard it. Great performances by everyone in the band.

i'm still peeved that they didn't play this on the NS tour after much rehearsal. i know, i should let it go already...but there's something deep down inside gnawing away at me about it...i've sought counseling, too...

If Leavell ever dares to play "Confessin'" I may be arrested for murder.

With the exception of Ventilator Blues, I tend to not like any song by the Stones (original or cover) with the word "Blues" in the title.

There's only one 'Confessin' the blues' and that's on my album Around and Around...

That's one's the greatest, for sure - since it's 2 minutes longer than the version on "Number 2"
Wasn't it 2 minutes....think it was.

Besides their version, I was only familiar with Chuck Berry's version for quite a while but then heard Little Walter's and he does it pretty awesome too. I think the Stones Chess Studios songs from '64 are all great.

The W. Harris version is pretty early - defintely pre-dates Chuck Berry's.

On mouth harp Little Harper is no 1, but his singing is so and so
Little Walter vs. Mick Jagger 0-3

There's no law that says anyone HAS to like blues music..but I find it amazing when even this thread has to have its competitive edge..."don't like songs with blues in the title"..."Little Walter vs. Mick" etc.

If it weren't for Muddy, Elmore, Willie etc. etc. etc. there would be no Rolling Stones.

once it's found, it's pretty easily played, though.

Rockie, YOU probably know Jay McShann was in a film made of an Elmore Leonard book about a year or so before McShann died.

With regard to the Stones version of Confessin' I liked the passion in the band's performance. Unlike any "young folks" I'd ever heard! Always thought the Beatles were way too sweet before they became "experienced."

Always loved this song. I regret that they did not record teh Rock'n'Roll Circus version, or did not release it. Can't have been THAT bad, can it?

I am confused Erik. I never knew there was a longer version of CTB in existence. You're not talking about "2120 SO Michigan Ave"?

"Confessin the Blues" is some of the greatest early Blues the Stones did. They were getting that Total-Blues together; where the entire band is hitting it hard, yet there's great dynmics. I thought some of the real weaving, and with Brian Jones, was done on this song. Incredible two guitars.

If wasn't confusing the "songs themselves", just the "track base" in my head - so the confusion was mostly unpersonal. Confesessin surely couldn't extended with 2 minutes; I know very well

Thank god I don't have any....I'd mistake Rolling Stones for the Beatles if I did. No more moonshine for me ever since I lost touch with Lukester; he had some great stuff...
