Quotedcba Don't be fooled by the Hal Hashby film to assess this show. LSTNT was severely sped-up... I've heard this before, but now I'm curious--is the film itself sped up or is it just the PAL transfer issue, with NTSC running at normal speed. Or is the NTSC version fast and the PAL faster? Or are they both fast?

QuoteNoCode0680 There were all these commercials for C-3P0's cereal I loved that stuff. Part of a nutritious breakfast, as well (if only a small part).

Quotejamesfdouglas haha, it would have been weird in '89 if they used pics from '81. Oddly enough, I was watching something recently on VHS that I had taped in '89 (nothing to do with the stones--I wasn't even really aware of them then) and a commercial came on for the RS tour. It showed '81 footage from the Hal Ashby film.

424. Re: Jones
I vote for this one for the IORR home page photo. Sure, it's not such a flattering picture of Brian (it's probably not even him), but it does meet BV's criteria for being relatively recent. I can tell by the iSee device held by the man on the right. Definitely post 2007.

Maybe it's the alternative Before They Make Me Run with Jagger on lead vocals (2011)! Have you listened to it yet? But seriously, is it an alternate take? PMS single had an alternate All Down the Line, right?

Forgive me for my ignorance, but were the amps on stage responsible for the entire sound output in the theater, or was there some sort of PA system required? What about for stadium shows in 1978? I know now there is a fancy big expensive sound system, but how does that work exactly? And what is the point of having onstage amps now?

Thanks for the review, Ronnie! Maybe a tad hard on Taylor, but nice to hear a different perspective.

From Wikipedia: Blue-plate special or blue plate special is a term used in the United States by restaurants, particularly (but not only) diners and cafes. It refers to a specially low-priced meal, usually changing daily. It typically consists of a "meat and three" (three vegetables), presented on a single plate, often a divided plate (rather than more elegantly on separate dishes). T

QuoteSipuncula It's working now. Although figuring out how to actually get the songs to my computer instead of on google's playlist app/website is sure to be an exercise in frustration. It's like buying a car and finding out that the dealer has made the exit hard to find because he only wants you to drive it on his parking lot. Doesn't everyone else find this annoying?

QuoteRollingFreak I'm always surprised when I see these lists and they don't include songs like "Dance, Pt. 1", "Hot Stuff" When I first heard those two I didn't like them at all, but they grew on me to the point that I consider them to be great songs now.

Streets of Love and Infamy are two of the better tracks on ABB. There are 4-5 clunkers on that album that I can't even remember because I haven't listened to them in so long (oh yeah, your #4 NeoCon is one of them; thanks for reminding me). I like Fight from Dirty Work, but I agree on Winning Ugly and Back to Zero. Zero and Don't Hold Back are their worst of the modern era.

In addition to the harmony vocals, the main vocal seems to be a different take as well, but very similar to the '94 B-side.

Quotebig4 Mick does sound like he did a lot of 2011 vocalizing on these tracks. But overall these 1:30 or so snippets sound really strong. Love You Too Much is certainly the best 2011 impersonating 1978 vocal I've ever heard. I mean, I *think* it's new.

Quotegordianus57 - "Wanna Hold You" is superb, (particularly at the San Diego '98 show) and beats the stuffing out of ER's "All About You" for the paired Keith song. Glad you pointed that out. Keith's performance of that song on that tour was amazing. It would be a good subject for analyzing the (alleged) decline in his playing skills on subsequent tours

QuoteBimmelzerbott Another thing I find very strange is, that he stopped playing a couple of times in the middle of Sympathy For The Devil on the BB tour. I witnessed it myself. I read that he did it during other songs as well. Not sure. Whatever, he skipped a few bars, even stood up and left his kit just to come back a few seconds later and continued playing. Sometimes with playing very off beat
