Quotebrianwalker because of this. why waste my time with 1981. That might be about the best damn thing I've ever seen.

It's OK, maybe a little boring, but I guess it was what they were going for at the time. Probably would have been cut from Exile and maybe slightly diminishes the overall impact of GHS.

After finishing side two, I gotta say (as Keith would say) "Had It With You" is actually a keeper. It's up there with "Mean Disposition" from VL. Love that live sound.

Listening to DW right now on my new turntable after many years hiatus, and I gotta say (as Keith would say) Too Rude has the worst production/effects I've ever heard on a Stones album. I always kind of liked the song, because I first heard it on Keith's live album from '88. Now for the tough part...side two.

I can't stand the echo-ey guitar sound on Undercover. If it sounded more "live" it would have the edge over Dirty Work, but then again, the drums sound terrible on Dirty Work. As far as songwriting goes, Undercover gets the edge. Both records leave something to be desired, namely Don Was. Yes, I said it. I feel dirty.

Quotebianca The Stones will go down as one of the biggest entertainment stories of the past 100 years. Beatles, Bing Crosby, Elvis, Sinatra and maybe a few others, but that is it. They were white hot from the mod 60's to the mid 80's, and then enjoyed the nostalgia game for 20 years afer that. A mind-boggling run. Today they are irrelevant. A vital part of history, of course. But a m

Quoteheadly123 What makes you think he can play ? Evidence provided by members of this board this year proves he can play. I can't say I've seen the same for any of the other members of the "band".

Just got a new system after being without a turntable for 15 years. Put on ER first, and I actually listed to the whole thing without skipping over Indian Girl, which was always so easy to do on CD, and I actually enjoyed it. Same goes for Suck on the Jugular from VL, which I always hated (the song, that is), but damn, that album is textured nicely. I'd be pleased as punch if the Stones c

Great song. You can really hear that Goat's Head Soup vibe on the instrumental.

Everything from "Tatoo You". I first noticed it the other day in my car with "Hang Fire" (I assume he's playing on that one).

QuoteCousinC And if - like me - you love those 97 Queenies. Another very nice rendition is on "Danger. Keep behind b. wire". (forgot town at the moment). Fort Worth, in the crazy huge Texas Motor Speedway. My second Stones show, and it was great. I just heard this one for the first time since '97.

Quotestonescrow So how was the actual show? I saw them just five days before you did at Qwest Field up here in Seattle. I liked the Austin set list much better. They sure sounded good on the DVD. It was a festival atmosphere, which was definitely different. There were several announcements about the show being filmed, and cameras were overhead on cables, which was a surprise to everyone. Kei

Lot of people from Austin here! I'll never forget hearing the soundcheck from my house before walking over to the show back in '06.

I swear I saw a high-def version on the Palladia cable channel a few months ago. It blew me away, and I'd like to get that version, and it sounds like this DVD doesn't cut it.

I assumed he meant Marilyn Manson. Like..the goth guy. I can only further assume that said Manson has a fan website, perhaps akin to iorr.org, and that occasionally people fight on the Marilyn Manson message board about the state and future direction of Marilyn Manson's career. Sometimes it gets nasty...

Looking at some of the reviews from the European leg of the ABB tour, it is clear that Keith was having some major problems. The last show I saw was in Austin 2006, and I had a blast, but I've got to admit, due to the party atmosphere, and the fact that it was within walking distance of my house, that I didn't pay as much attention to the musicianship as I had in the past (thankful

I bought Voodoo Stew when it came out in '95. It was stamped $125, but I talked the guy down to $118 or something including tax, because that was all the money I had. I have never regretted that purchase. Still listen to Ronnie and Keith attempt vocal overdubs on "You Got it Made" for a laugh to this day. My friends and I had the sh#t memorized.

Wasn't that around the time Patti was diagnosed with cancer and he didn't think she was going to make it? Hopefully that somewhat explains it.

I've had this for years, but I just (somewhat randomly) put it on and was blown away. What a great opportunity was lost there for some Mick and Keith harmonies in the finished product. Fantastic song.
