"In the past they were usually good about making sure they didn't repeat songs from tour to tour, not anymore. Look at the differences from 75 to 78 and then to 81. Every tour they changed it up quite a bit the next time they came around." Usually between each tour they put out several live albums. Also back then they were still a band, not a virtual corporation. "Classic R

I wish I could see a show on the east coast. My current favorite band Peeping Tom is opening. Best CD of the year.

Blues is boring. Any more than 1 or 2 songs and the whole set drags. And the blues is more of an attitude than a style and I don't think multi-millionaires with few real problems can convincingly deliver it for 2 hours.

So what if its not the original New York Dolls. Very few "original" bands are still together. Good musicians making good music is what it is regardless of what they call it.

Honky Tonk Women is too slow and sounds like too much of a show tune. JJF, SFM and SMU are all great openers.

The show wont be cancelled. I think they are taking advantage of the stadium owners who might be relatively inexperienced in concert promotion. I think Cohl hustled a massive guarantee up front regardless of the amount of tickets sold. It means the Stones get paid their $5 million no matter how many people show up. If Gillette did a bit of research they would have found out the January shows in B

Madison Square Garden has raised the rent and it now costs $275,000 to stage a concert there not to mention union fees on top of that. Anyone think so they are so intent on playing an allegedly historic venue as many times as possible that they would let it cut into their profits like that? Some people here overanalyze things too much, all you gotta do is follow the money.

"I guess another way to put the original question would be, why don't the Stones have more demanding fans (either in number or intensity)? " What would they demand and how would they demand it? The great thing about having so many hard core fans is that their attendence and money is taken granted therefore you don't really have to offer them anything or cater to them in any

THere are also quite a bit of tourists at Bruce shows who talk and beer run en masse til he plays Born To Run. I saw this myself with the one Bruce show I attended. But he also plays 3 hour shows so that leaves plenty of time for lots of hits as well as deep album cuts and cover songs.

I am perfectly satisfied. But I don't spend too much money and I don't go in expecting anything other than a Stones show. I also don't equate following the setlist and listening to 75 different boots each tour as part of the concert experience. And I have said it before and will say it again, to be a "loyal" fan is to be taken for a sucker. If I were truly disappointe

One Hit To The Body without the backup singers? I Got The Blues without horns? Some of those songs might sound just a bit too naked and stripped down.

Warhorse fatigue doesn't exist, its just more sour grapes from people who think the band should be playing *just* for them. Ticket prices and market saturation, yes. I doubt endless whining from internet setlist geeks is having any effect on sales whatsoever.

Most of the shows are in places the band hasn't played this tour. I doubt fans in Missoula, Wichita, Regina, Halifax, Boise, Louisville and Vancouver are holding off on buying tickets because they are afraid the band might play Start Me Up, Miss You and Brown Sugar.

Something like All Down The Line, Heartbreaker, Rocks Off or even Bitch would end the show perfectly. Nice rockers a good chunk of the crowd already knows, and the fact that these songs already feature all supporting members onstage, they don't have to unnecessarily add horns to Satisfaction or Jumpin' Jack Flash.

Pearl Jam drew 22,000 to Missoula and many bands have filled the Idaho Center, which will likely be configured to hold about 10,000 for this concert. Missoula just might do better than the some of the big city stadiums where they have saturated the market. Boise is booming and has grown a lot over the years.
