Quoteslew jamesfdouglas - I will not deny that my government does some shady things but that same government has also kept this worl from totally imploding since World War II. I can't look at it from your point of view as I'm not sure where you are from. I have sat here with a silver spoon in my mouth for my entore life compared to most people in the world. The government certainly i

QuoteBliss QuoteMarie In Mandy Aftel's book Keith mentions that he knows a lot of people blame him and Anita. He is alluding to the above mentioned interview with Lewis Jones. In the same book Christopher Gibbs, without naming Brian's father, so much as said that Lewis Jones didn't know anything about the situation. Lewis Jones knew his son had some issues. Quotetonterapi QuoteRedhotcarpet He would never have started a new band, that was just something he said to Jagger to look more independent and strong. The truth is he did not survive more than two weeks after being fired from the band that once was his baby. Sacked by Mick and the guy who now was having a baby with Anita Pallenberg. He did not want to be sacked, it must have been a nightmare but

Anna has changed her story a few times about what happened. She had only been at Cotchford a couple of weeks when Brian died. Her book reads like a romance novel. Terry Rawlings could have written a good book, but there are too many inaccuracies. In the appendix, though, are copies of the coroner's report, etc. Janet Lawson and Keylock were romantically linked at one time. Keylock said Thoro

Janet Lawson and Tom Keylock on July 3, 1969 at Cotchford. They were rumored to be close......... Keylock said Thorogood confessed to him (Keylock) on his deathbed. Thorogood's daughter said he didn't. She waited a looooong time to tell her story.

Eight Presidents from Eisenhower to Bush, Sr. were in WWII. I had forgotten that Johnson was in WWII. You learn when you occasionally peek in at IORR.

Was there any mention about Brian Jones? I believe Donovan is still married to Linda Lawrence, the mother of Brian's son Julian.

Some who read Eric Clapton's autobiography didn't care for it. I liked it. In some parts he came across as a grade A jerk, but he took responsibility. He put Patti Boyd Harrison and Alice Orsmby Gore through the ringer. He seems very proud to be over 20 years sober...gave up cigarettes and everything. It's not everyone's cup of tea...no groupie stories, etc....just personal an

Quotestupidguy2 Yeah, I grew up in Texas where Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Buck Owens were part of the scenery every Saturday night or riding in the car with your dad. Ahhh...good times...memories. My dad would cook breakfast every Sunday morning to Folsom Prison Blues....great.... and then he'd subject us to Kitty Wells. Not bad, but I couldn't take the whining so early on Sun

QuoteBliss QuoteMarie Quotestonesrule I am another who admires lem motlow's posts. Anyone anywhere who is "cruel and meanspirited" bothers me. Re Gram, who can blame him for wanting to hang out with "the band" of that time? Loyalty is a trait I admire. Jagger has been loyal and treated Keith more than fairly for years. The band has put up with a lot from Keith.

QuoteRedhotcarpet QuoteMarie Brian's emotional and drug (drink) problems interferred for sure. Those pesky cops harrassing him didn't help either. Like Keith said....he wasn't a cat that could handle that. Neither could he handle losing Anita. Like Keith said: shit happens. Like I said believe what you want. You almost had me believing....until I read in another thread that you

QuoteRedhotcarpet QuoteMarie Read below from an engineer who was actually in the studio with the band ....Give it a rest Redhotcarpet. What has that to do with anything? Point was that Jones didnt function in the band at all after Anita left him. It's an interesting a very downplayed part of rock history and obvious reason for the mans rapid downfall. Downplayed? Are you serious? B
