QuoteRedhotcarpet Quotetonterapi QuoteDandelionPowderman That was my point exactly. Did Brian really wanted to part ways? I honestly don't know if Brian said it flat out. But I think he gave hints. I mean Brian was very aware of the problems between him and the band in 68/69 (i.e he wasn't so far out that some people seem to believe) and seem to have waited for the glimmers to ma

QuoteDoxa Quote24FPS By the end of the 60's, Keith role as the second most important member of the group was esablished among fans, and to a degree in media, but it would take until the early 80's that he would gain such a status Brian used to have, actually challenging Jagger's place in the spotlight. - Doxa I don't agree with this at all. Keith's status was firmly fi

QuoteChacho The Gram Parsons bashing in this thread really saddens me, and makes me question this forum. There seems to be many posting here on Gram Parsons who know as much about him, his music, and country music in general, as the one poster who thinks he had blond hair at Nellcote. (There are scores of photos taken at Nellcote by Dominique Tarle and all of them show no variation of hair color

Quotestonesrule I think it's fair to say that Keith was not a great father. One of many people in the world who genuinely love their kids but put their drug addiction first. More than kind to refer to Sessler as a courier. Another man who was not a great father -- or example. Jeff and he were bad news and hurt a lot of people. McKenzie Philips was a victim of her messed-up father.

Overboard with drug use? One of the most talented people you know? Anita was a unstable junkie. She went overboard with the drug use because she was addicted. Talented? At doing what? We sure know it wasn't at acting.

Quotedrewmaster I can maybe understand why Jagger would be interested in Taylor. Taylor sings nicely and was good-looking before he lost his hair. Drew Huh?

So you've met Keith big deal.....you don't know him. Keith is thoughtful...Keith is articulate.... sounds like a bunch of teenage girls gushing about Justin Bieber.

I'm not trying to be contrary, but where did you get your facts from? I'm not saying he wasn't hurt, I'm sure he was. He might have been hurt that she went to a band member and not "to some other guy on the other side of the world" as Keith has said. If what you are saying is true, so be it. I've just never heard of some of the things you are saying...but hey, i

QuoteSleepy City QuoteBashlets Although I dont like her music, Madonna is also pretty damn bright about manipulating the media and its made her a fortune. I agree. Her IQ far outweighs her talent. I agree that her drive and ambition far outweighs her talent.

Quotetonterapi QuoteBliss Considering that Brian used to beat the crap out of Anita, I doubt he was really capable of loving her. They had a weird relationship (alcohol and drugs tend to bring out the worst in people) and the violence went both ways. But I don't doubt that there was love. Even though Brian's father claim to believe that Brian's true love was Anita I doubt it. S

Quotemickschix Ok, so the other 2 Brian books that I read are " Death of a Rolling Stone-The Brian Jones Story", by Mandy Aftel and " Straight FRom Ther Heart-THe Roling Stone Murder" by Gloria Shepard. I've also watched DVD's on his life and death. IT does seem that the consensus is that he had a terrible temper, was, as you said a very flawed man. As you can see, I

I saw U2 at the Superdome in the late 1990's. The opening act was Third Eye Blind and attendance was poor, only about 40,000. It wasn't their best. The show itself was boring. Bowie, on the other hand, was great. I saw him at the Summit in Houston. He didn't have an opening act and played for two hours plus.

According to Aftel's book Death of a Rolling Stone, she quotes an interview Mick gave to Creem magazine in 1974 where Mick says what they really wanted to do at the time was to play on stage and Brian wasn't in any condition to play. Mick goes on to say he thought Brian didn't want to and it pissed him (Mick) off. Of the June 8th meeting Brian told the others he couldn't d

Terry Rawlings, in his book Who Killed Christopher Robin?, said said the Stones offered Brian a one-off payment of 100,000 pounds to be followed by a yearly payment of 20,000 pounds for as long as the group existed. Terry Rawlings isn't the most reliable source out there, so who knows?

QuoteStoneage If I were a politician in England dental care would be my first and foremost issue. Isn't the dentist's union in GB ashamed by the overall dental status on the isles? Not all water supplies are fluoridated in England are they? This has been a politically controversial subject in the past.
