I'm liking the new version of Seize the Day w/ the nice and moody vocals from Phoebe Bridgers - there's almost an early Pink Floyd-like vibe to the tune now, and overall I like it better than the original. I had never even heard of her until I saw her on SNL about a month ago, and she and her band were pretty darn good, but didn't realize she was also on this until I put two and

Another 4 of 5 star review for McCartney III Imagined....this time from the Independent: Album review: Paul McCartney – III Imagined McCartney cements his legacy as a pop-rock godfather by inviting a younger generation of artists onboard. I just posted this article in the main Covid thread the other day, but it's just as relevant here also. From CNN: With 100 days until the Tokyo Olympics, Japan has vaccinated less than 1% of its population. That's a problem Tokyo (CNN)When 2020 Tokyo Olympics volunteers have in recent weeks asked officials how they'll be protected from Covid-19, given the foreign athletes

Quoteterraplane I think it's that people don't like to be coerced. Where I live in California, I see loads of encouragement everywhere - from signs on pharmacies, grocery stores, billboards, etc, and daily reminders from news anchors both locally and nationally to get your vaccine! Whie most of it is well intentioned, some of it is bordering on pressure, which could eventually lead

QuoteTaylor1 Dr Anthony Fauci said he has given his permission to The Rolling Stones to play live concerts but Mick must wear a mask throughout the show, even when singing and playing the harp. And he must stay 6 feet away from Keith on stage throughout the shows so no joint singing at the microphone by Keith and Mick Great news - but has Dr Anthony Fauci given fans permission to actually

I'm not sure about that likecats as I opted for a refund as soon as they became available (as I did with all concerts by all bands), which was well before the SD show was ultimately cancelled, Guess I'll have to deal with going back to the end of the line if there ever is a tour, but in the meantime I've made my all my refunded money work for me in the stock market.

From NME: Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl’s coronabanger ‘Easy Sleazy’ is lockdown in a song "Open the windows and open the doors... Everything's gonna get really freaky." Thanks Irix - finally got to hear a snippet of the Damon Albarn remix of Long Tailed Winter Bird which I'd been looking forward to. Sounds sort of like what I anticipated, but perhaps a bit more minimal...definitely remixed and given his personal stamp compared to the original. A nice improvement imo, and looking forward to hearing the entire tune along with the rest of the tracks in full.

Quotelikecats I’ve had both jabs and I’m anxious to get back to concerts. San Diego was the only Rolling Stones show I had a ticket for, and the stadium has been completely demolished. I’m hoping they’ll reschedule for Petco Park. While I had tix for both San Diego and Dallas (w/lucky dips for the latter), turned out San Diego would have been the only one I could attend after all, and then the

Quotempj200 The 2019 tour finished within days of the NFL’s deadline/requirements. So I wouldn’t expect the rescheduled tour to run through the NFL season. Most teams use their stadiums daily for meetings, offices, training, film, weight rooms, practice etc. AEG (and Live Nation) have also said their tours will require proof of vaccine. Or possibly a current negative test or antibodies test.

Quotecrholmstrom Vaccines are available for everyone over age 16 in Washington state now. Of course, trying to get an appointment is mayhem. Glad I was able to get started a month ago. Getting second shot on Saturday. Same here in California, and same here about getting started - one down, one to go. . I don't think it's been that hard here for people who want the vaccine to get it -

Quotebv I am ready to tour any time, but I don't think the world is ready for any major tours until most people are vaccinated. It will take a while. May be smaller crowds with a few hundred people are ok, but a large tour with 50,000 people x 15 shows? Hard to imagine during an active pandemic. True, it's very hard to imagine - especially when considering a tour from a band whose

Quotebv There will be new covid-19 variants as long as there are countries where people are not fully vaccinated. That is why it is impossible to open up and run as normal, with large crowds, for still a long while. We are all in the same boat, unless borders are closed, like in New Zealand, Australia etc. And the Olympics in Japan? They are currently in a growing 4th wave now. The new variants s

Quotethecitadel The vaccines work and reduce the risks of serious illness and death for those vaccinated to flu levels. We may get lots of infections, but nothing unusual compared to the past 100 years. You can see the results of vaccines in the UK, Israeli and even US numbers now. That means the Band and Touring Entourage will be as safe as any other year - maybe better than 2016 in South Am

QuoteNashvilleBlues If everyone in the US above 16 can be fully vaccinated by mid-June, why would having a US tour this fall be significantly more dangerous than having it in 2022? Could be an issue with the various regulations from state to state that haven't been fully established yet, not to mention there's also the numerous mutations and variants that continue to evolve from day t

Quotedmay The Stones cover of Just My Imagination came my way via the Walkman and I thought, "My god, how hard they could/can play." It brought to mind this song with Grohl and how much energy is in it. Still don't like it, but the energy is undeniable. It made me think of how the Stones as a collective could/should innervate their sound, throw caution to the wind, rather than make

Quotetriceratops QuoteHairball Sounds more like a Mick solo project as I doubt the Stones as a band would ever want to go down that route. A song or two on Some Girls might have been slightly influenced by the punk vibe, but they were far from it as far as actually sounding like punk rock. In this case, seems clear to many where Mick lifted the idea, and he does so with no shame or apologies whic
