Never heard a bad version of Cortez the Killer, but this newly released version from from Budokan, 1976 has an extra layer of thought-provoking intensity. It's like hearing it new again for the first time...chilling storytelling amidst the calm atmosphere interlaced with an orchestra of electric guitars and wailing feedback...

Quotegotdablouse ...that track Mick was grooving to on the harmonica in September 2018 just sounded great out of the gate and was nothing like they'd done recently, hope it made it on the album. That was indeed a great clip which has a vintage Midnight Rambler jamming vibe to it...something from the darker depths... Would be fantastic if it makes it on the album in one form or anoth

Quotekeef94 I really hope this is a landmark album, as opposed to that dreadful song Mick and Dave Grohl shat out, for example. Yes.

Quotegotdablouse Quotechevysales Sounds so familiar I can’t remember what it was they did that had same sound. Likely one of the things they released as additional stuff since Licks in 2002. One of the songs released from then to now sounds just like it lyrically as far as phrasing for Mick goes. I will go thru my stuff and see I’m sure I can find it. On another note I’m glad I was t only one

I thought Mick said the new songs had to be "great"? Is this really "great"? It sounds ok, but...doesn't quite grab me the same was Living in a Ghost Town initially did. Maybe Andrew Watt convinced Mick how "great" this is? Whatever, looking forward to hearing the rest of it, but I imagine there will be far better choices when the full album is released.

Wondering whatever happened to Dave Stewart as far as his collaborations with Mick... He seems to have disappeared out of Mick's orbit sometime after the Alfie soundtrack and Superheavy. Or was he also involved with Micks Getta Grip/England Lost songs? Anyhow, hope all is well with him.

Quoteslewan Quotekid killowatt According to The Sun’s music industry insider: “The Stones are so proud of Hackney Diamonds and they cannot wait for their fans to hear it.” PROUD !!! what do you expect they will be saying about their new album? 'The Stones think they recorded a mediocre album and are glad that they are finally done with it'…? No, they'll wait until next y

With all of the exciting 'Hackney' hullabaloo over the announcement including all of the projections, etc. thinking the chances of a press conference and/or live performance are becoming less likely to happen. Similar to recent tours, it was all done via social media including twitter, facebook, instagram, their own website, etc., which then made it to all of the press who then echo

Quotecrholmstrom Micah Nelson is going to fill in for Nils Lofgren at the Roxy shows & possibly more. It looks like Springsteen is going to tour summer of 2024. The recent postponed Bruce shows in Philly have been rescheduled for next summer. Wouldn't be surprised if Neil and Crazy Horse (with Micah) release a new album soon ...maybe even before the Roxy shows! And I imagine thes

From Dylan, to Sinatra, to Elvis, to Tony Bennet, to Willie Nelson, to James Brown, and so many others - there've been quite a few great cover versions of this absolute classic. Even Paul McCartney did a version with Eric Clapton at the Concert For George. Maybe it's finally time for the Stones to u
