Weekend In Wallop - Wyman/Otway/Holland - September 1984
Source: ITV analogue broadcast (December 1984) recorded onto PANASONIC Mono VHS
Capturedtongue sticking out smileyanasonic Standalone DVD Recorder
Picture: PAL 4:3 25fp/s 720x576 Around 9Mbps
Sound : MPEG 2.0 384kbps
Menued and authored using TMPGenc

1. Bill Wyman and Stanley Unwin - Sketch
2. John Otway - Green Green Grass Of Home
3. Jools Holland Experience* - Trouble

*Jools Holland, Gilson Lavis, Bill Wyman, Rick Mayall, John Otway

From my own master VHS recording made during original UK broadcasts.

There is the very occasional glitch which appeared on my original tapes.

Lineage: Terestrial Analogue>Mono VHS>DVD Recorder>PC>DVD

This is a bit of an oddity.

A weekend gala charity event was held in the vilage of Nether Wallop, England in September 1984.

Broadcast in December 1984 this show featured mainly comedians however did feature a little music.

This DVD has Bill Wyman and Stanley Unwin doing a sketch.
John Otway performing the Green Green Grass Of Home.
Jools Holland doing a comedy version of Trouble featuring Gilson Lavis on drums, Rick Mayall on vocals and Bill Wyman on electric guitar. (Though he tends to plays bass runs)

get this superb vinyl rip while it's hot:

[www.dimeadozen.org]

Rolling Stones
Rockford 01-10-1981
audience recording
3LP-set "Party Down"

I bought this 3LP-set when it was released, 26 or 27 years ago (it's not a not a second-hand),
and only listen to it only a few times, maximun 5 times.

No declicking
No dehissing
No compression

Considering this concert was recorded 28 years ago,
with the cassette technology, it's not that bad.
some of you will find the volume low, but the peaks are at -1 dB,
and I hate compression, especially on audience recordings.
I changed the pitch side by side (using a guitar to tune) but not song by song.
I made the pitch adjustment from the turntable, not with the computer.

lineage :

original vinyl 3LP-set "Party Down" -->
BST PR95 turntable -->
Shure M44C cartrige -->
brand new stylus -->
Pioneer VSX-407RDS amplifier -->
Audacity - wave -->
Soundforge 5 - editing - wave -->
Flac Frontend level 8 -->

feel free to declick and dehiss, but remain careful, and save to original sound.
and of course, do not use compression.
and do not forget to send me your new mastering work.

the tracks :

Su Qu Track

3 7m Let's Spend The Night Together
