Listen, especially when the old lady sings the lines:

I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die

Hmm, I'm having trouble getting the youtube link to work but its AC/DC's It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll)

Another contender would be John Farnham's You're The Voice, Australian artists seems to know how to use the bagpipe in rock music smiling smiley

I guess the bagpipes in the AC/DC song is some kind of homage by the three members born in Scotland?

OT--Greatest Unknown Composer of the 60's?
Posted by: loog droog ()

Found this clip yesterday on the website for the PBS "Superheroes" documentary.

This outtake of the show may be one of the best things ever on youtube, and if you're an old Marvel comics fan, I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it:

...and if you've never heard these songs before, here are the "originals"

Excelsior!!!

For some reason there was no outlet to see those syndicated cartoons in the 1960s in my childhood home of Indianapolis. After finally seeing and hearing these I am very glad to have not seen them at the time. I lived and breathed Marvel Comics as a kid, and these cartoons are a joke. There was a series called The Mighty Hercules that had crap animation that hardly moved. This is very reminiscent. I would have considered this a ripoff.

I did send away for the MMMS floppy record when I was a kid. I had to beg my dad to put it on the 'good' stereo.

Where's the Spiderman theme? Anyway, I particularly remember that and the Captain America song. It's interesting to me how early animation (Fleisher Bros, Disney, Warner Bros.) is genrally so artful and then how terrible and cheesy it became in the 50s, 60s, 70s. Indeed the comic books of that era are far superior.

Wasn't Spiderman composed by Neal Hefti, or was that Batman ?
