Thanks! Hadn't heard this one before. One of the fave Stones' songs. Interesting that 2 of my favorite bands in the world have covered this. And covered it well!

Former Trucker Jason Isbell was closing his shows this summer with a blistering rendition of Can't You Hear Me Knocking.

I can't say much for Billy's mastery of the lyrics, but it's certainly a great vehicle for Mick Taylor. I know a lot has been made about Ronnie allowing them to move into funkier territory, but we'll really never know if Mick T. could have responded.

Listening to the 1973 live album of Billy P. with Taylor on guitar we easily can say: yes he could.

Si Si Je Suis Un Rock Star is such a quaint song and video. The video reminds me of those homemade parodies on youtube where a silly slideshow has been matched to the lyrics of a song in the silliest way possible.

Nevertheless, I enjoy it. It's very catchy and I can see how it could become a radio hit.

Another great one is A New Fashion from the same album as Si Si:

Bill Wyman having a solo hi (in Europe anyway) in 1981 is something I will NEVER understand.

Bill Wyman had a more successful solo career than Mick!

This animated feature was always a firm favourite of mine as a child, but had totally forgotten that it features David Bowie at playing 'actor' Good stuff.

Reading the subject, I thought this was going to be about the song he did for the film, "The Falcon and the Snowman"

...or something about his hard living during his Thin White Duke phase.

The Archies are sometimes jokingly compared to The Doors, as they also had no bass player. However, there is some controversy as to whether Reggie played bass or not. In most drawings, his guitar looks identical to Archie's, making him the band's second (or co-lead) guitarist. However, a number of drawings (including the one above) clearly show Reggie's instrument to have four tuning keys, the most common bass design. Six-string bass guitars do exist, however, and the Archies' recordings regularly featured a bass player. In more than one comic strip, Reggie is described as playing bass (however, this is not necessarily canon, as storylines and hobbies/activities in the Archie world change from story to story). Finally, in the liner notes for 2008's The Archies Christmas Album, Reggie is listed as the bass guitarist.

And still the question on all our minds remains unanswered!
