Some dont love having the whole back catalogue reissued every few years - when they're trying to finance going to a few shows?
I wonder why.

Let me get back on that.

Some time ago I told you:
Universal is going to release the Rolling Stones catalog for download. They have done.
I told you about The Biggest Bang on Blueray, this release is postponed to later this year.
I told you about the release on heavy vinyl, the complete Stones catalog was pressed these days by Pallas in Germany, according to Spiegel [www.spiegel.de]
And I told you something more going on in 2009.
Now we have Febr. 4th, .....

The "real" Universal Episode will start in 2009, with "Deluxe Editions", 190gr vinyl LPs and some very new stuff.

It is very disappointing that none of those people who claimed to have "inside knowledge" that Universal would be releasing deluxe editions of the Stones catalog in 2009 are now willing to confirm those claims.

Yes, they "have done". But what have they done? They just took over the old Virgin Remasters without any bonus stuff for download.
If Universal really has new remasters at hand, even with bonus tracks, it does not make sense to release the old masters without bonus tracks for downloads. Well, they might think that download customers dont care for quality and are not interested in bonus tracks anyway, but this would be the only explanation, otherwise it makes no sense.
Doesnt look like a fresh start with Universal at all for me, and I hope, no I pray that Im wrong, but it doesnt look very promising that the CD versions will be much, if at all, different from the Virgin remasters.

mmmh alimente i was not talking about optimism but responding to mickijaggeroo frustration about people here questioning his/her credibility as "insider" as the drewmaster's post he/she replied to.
optimistic? it's good to be if you can. Realistic? Also. Anyone can express affection to the stones as they want. Me myself find it hard to be optimistic about a new (great) stones release and also a bit skeptical about the quality of deluxe reissues if only Mick and his ideas about "quality" and "love" for the archives are in charge of the project.
but
I dont think it's very nice to attack people just because they dont have any news to share as if they HAVE to have and share.
It's been years now that i hang out in here and I think mickijaggeroo has proved to be a reliable source of info about the band that i thank him/her for. And certainly not the kind of person that pretend to be "The Source".

Yeah it'll probably be just that.

someone mentioned Barnes & Noble (huh, thought they sold books) pulling all the Stones Virgin releases -- nowhere in sight and suggested that this meant something was 'going to happen' or somthun like dat.
far too little to go on, but could be one piece or indicator, who knows
