Early this morning, on sunday october 10th, soulsinger Solomon Burke died of natural causes.
Solomon had just arrived at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for a sold out performance with the Dutch band De Dijk at the Paradiso venue this tuesday.
We are intensely sad. For his beloved ones, for his children and family, and for his many friends. We are very proud we can, ever since our cooperation started three years ago, count us among them.
His music will continue, his love will stay with us forever.

R.I.P. Solomon Burke. Another great artist and legend that I have never seen and sadly never will. On the bright side (if that is possible), since he was heading for a concert, I assume he was not in bad health shape and must have felt rather okay. I think it is better to die suddenly and unexpectidly like that than to get into a point when one only suffers and waits for the death to help him...70 is not too few, but surely not too many either he could have stayed with us longer. Again, R.I.P.

They had just recorded together a CD with songs of De Dijk, translated from dutch to english.
I saw him once in Groningen with his BIG Chair.
Great man, great voice, great soul.
