Open G, you are right about one thing, BRITNEY! How that trailor trash bimbo ever made it as big as she is ticks me off! I believe in rewarding talent with great success and all that goes with it. Aside from my not loving her sound, it seems pathetic that she has so little control and obviously cannot handle her success. I know, there have been hundreds before her that I do love who have had the very same problem; I would say the same thing to them. Get it together and lets see what you've really got! Bring it on, knock me out! I love to see talented young artists crack the top ten, and she has done that part. Is it her vulnerability that guys seem to love? I know of few female rock fans who are as fascinated by her as the guys are. Do enlighten me! Do you not just want to see her clean and at her best or is it the Janis, out of control aspect that enthralls everyone?

Certainly not for me - and there are many people who are deeply concerned about Amy's mental and physical health.
heck - even Mick, Keith and Ron have expressed their concerns in different ways.

I'd love to laugh it off, that all the stories were just media stunts & hype - but I'm afraid that's not the case.

I get a kick out of her music, not her troubles and suffering.
I haven't been knocked out by an artist, like this for a long, long time.
hope she gets it together soon and continues to write great music.

It was gal fans that told me about Amy W., and I do like her songs.
But, other than hating to see anyone with bad habits, addictions, etc, I'm not at all interested in her private life.

No..its the fact that shes simply a @#$%& GREAT singer (and I know plenty of women who like her too)

Matter of fact she is! maybe in some cases even better...just listen to''to know him is to love him'' Most see she is special even in the Jazz world The rolling Stones like her too she won so many prices! but to you she is not special? You want your stars shaven and clean? put on a Bon Jovi record. Thats what Amy winehouse does and thats why i like her....and i like Billy Holiday,Hendrix,miles Davis ect she is givin us all we ever wanted and more! I just hope she stay with us for a long time! Some people live a bad life of drugs and alcohol sometimes they make great records....sometimes washed shaved and clean people make very bad records...whats the point? A world full of Cliff Richards now that would be rather dull...I think....besides if she gets it together you will still not like her...so again whats the point? Because the whole world even the people in the ghetto feels that she got it! not together....but she got it! no doubt about that!

Another rave review

I don't personally understand what all the guys see in her, looks wise, but she sure as hell is an AMAZING singer! I've tried to stay away from buying anymore of today's music because it always turns out to be Sh-- but not since Devil Without a Cause have I been so impressed with a current album. I can't stop listening to this one!! Her style and sound is definitely refreshing, and her covers of Cupid and To Know Him are incredible! I can't wait to pick up the actual album instead of the burned copy I have (honestly, I can hardly make out a word that she's saying but it's great stuff!).

And she does seem to be a on fast track to oblivion, which is a shame really. You see so little of that sort of thing in this day and age.

As a matter of fact, I HATE BON JOVI, do not go for " clean-shaved" etc but I am entitled to my opinion and have not been offensive stating it SO THERE! I still see nothing much in Gram Parsons to make him stand out, and I have since listened to a lot of his early material, just to be sure my original opinion stayed...it did. I usually agree with Gazza, in music taste and other things, but just not in Amy's case. I am not about to apologize for my opinion, and I'm certain not everyone loves her.I also think it's a bit early to put a final stamp on her career, given the fact that's she's a mere 24 years old. If she lives long enough to have any kind of legacy, we'll see. I do hope that she gets the help she needs and can pull herself out of all of this nasty business. Maybe her parents could do more than write letters to the newspapers. It does seem though that she is totally out of their control. I know, this is supposed to be about her music! Undoubtedly her personal life is impacting her career!

But there is some awesome music there...and it took a real long time...and now there is a new and unbelieveable good voice...i shine a light on her!

in my saturday newspaper i saw a pic of Amy...it shocked me...you see this pain and ...well i have no words for it...it hurts me to see her like this...she is real and i wish the best for her

Seemingly, a lot of people listening to Back To Black!

Checking out the latest top 50 in the world she is number 14 with 252.500 copies sold in the album's 52end week!!!

I figured it was because of the enhanced 2 CD version - but when I checked further down the list she was also at number 44 with the NEW version - 107.400 sold!!

This make the combined tally stand at 359.900 - which would have given her the number 8 spot on the chart!!!

Not bad after a year!!

Nice to see that there is still a place for the "slow-growers" in this world. Normally albums flare up and a are gone - and almost forgotten - in 10-15 weeks.



And it is still a brilliant album and she is a fantastic singer/songwriter ;-)

Although it came out in 2006, this album - together with Plant and Krauss - marks the highlight in recorded music in 2007 for me ;-)
