Of course, her music lives forever. However, she could have had many more top recordings. She started singing in the early 30s. Thats her first 18 yrs. Do the math. She had a rough life, however, her life style lead to a wasting of her talent. We ll see what happens to this clown Winehouse.

There is no saying what she would or could have done, had she not died. Had she not been the person that she was, she probably would not have made such fantastic recordings in the first place.

I don't think I really know what you're on about? You think she should have started earlier? ...or?
She had a rough life, however, her life style lead to a wasting of her talent.
No - it led her to wasting her life for the benefit of the rest of us mere mortals. Her talent was her life....if you do not know what I mean - listen to her records ;-)
We ll see what happens to this clown Winehouse.
First of all - I do not see her as a clown. I see her as a tormented artist - and a very talented one. And what is it to you if you do not even like her now?? I think someone said earlier in this thread, that he wondered why you even bothered to contribute to a thread about a person that you so clearly despise??
Why even bother to read this thread if you don't like Amy Winehouse ? It's not like a Rolling Stones thread were everybody are entitled to their opinion. If you don't understand - then just stay out of it. Who cares if some tosser "don't get it" through his old sweaty glasses? You're pathetic.

So you are really at work? but bored!...you dont like this music...but what is there you dont like? and than you go say Whore...Junkie!! you must be a very cool guy!
Hi - Rooster & Nicos & Erik I had to leave when the last interview bit was posted - and like I half way imagined - someone had to spread his dislikes muliple times.
OK, now we know - thank you and good bye.
I had a copy of Back To Black with me tonight, at the bar - what can I tell ya - It works.
I just don't get the fascination with this retro, sub-par singer with so many obvious problems that one would think that perhaps her conflicted life is WHY folks are drawn to her, not the music. I have listened to her, cuts from Back In Black, I've send videos and man, she is not special at all. Just my opinion. She is not even as good as any of the 60's Motown, R&B singers, not even close!
I don't mind if you have that opinion, while I totally disagree, but to find that she is:

ha - that seems to portrait someone else. maybe Britney Spears?
I don't usually give a hoot about awards, but this young woman has achieved a lot in that department allready. they don't give them away for nothing, I think. record sales speak another language aswell.
and to think that perhaps her conflicted life is WHY folks are drawn to her, not the music, is a laugh (at least in my case) I have no mercy for Britney S. - and she's living a troubled life, isn't she?
it's Amy's voice and phrasing, her honesty and emotion that she is able to get accross. live and on record. she plays guitar and writes her own songs - she's no second hand plastic puppet on the strings. she is genuine.
