Absolutely each to his own 'Baboon Bro' - where I was sitting, (North face of the Igor' - the sound was dismal to say the least - particularly the drums.

Okay, I wouldn't knock them you know, never does. But I just gave my oppinion of what I heard.
I think it's okay to be critical. I'm not the one for that all they do touch gold. Still the greatest f****** rock'n'roll band anyway :-)

Keith ended the tour dressed the way he started.

i was in 112 too - i saw him eat it but i didn't see him spit it out! did he?

i just walked in the door from london. tuesday's show was my favorite - it had the best setlist. it took a long time to recover from hearing LIB, BOB, and CYHMK in a row. it was very hard for me to transition to IGC. then respectable was a breath of fresh air on the B stage.

thursday's show was the most energetic and also the loudest stones show i've ever been to (i lost some hearing from it). someone ruined the surprise of SAL but it was great anyway.

last night, a good show - i'd give it an 8/10 but didn't blow me away. i was somewhat expecting SWH and ronnie's CYHMK wasn't quite as good as tuesday's.

i had a great time partying with everyone and meeting lots of people on IORR...maybe someone can post some pictures?

Sometimes it seems to me that people who attend the same show are still not in the same show. Anyway it seems like that after all that we verify each and every note of a song in each concert. Hey what the heck? We got three oustanding shows delivered and all the people I know had a wonderful time in London.

I have not seen the clip yet, but it would not surprise me at all if it is not great. Frankly rs.com seems to select their clips at random, ignoring incredible clips that should be put in a time capsule (Midnight Rambler at Saitama) for completely screwed up numbers (Angie at NZ -- ouch). I am not sure they know what a good stones performance sounds like.

Thank you for the wonderful pictures1 Unfortunately, I had to fly back on Saturday and missed the very last show, but I heard that Thursday seemed to be the best of the whole tour anyway.

thursday's show, for me, just edges the tuesday show.
Sunday's setlist was disappointing,
although the performance level was excellent.

My feelings exactly!

just back & still pretty inarticulate, but:
the sound was way better on thursday, when the guitars were replacing the pyro effects,
so gorgeously loud you could feel the heat from them - but sunday felt mighty good too.

one nonmusical note worth clarifying: yes, Keith lit and then ate what *appeared to be* a cigarette,
but whatever it was, it wasn't a cigarette - so don't try that at home, kids! :E
there was a news item after the tuesday show where some authority stated that the Stones would be fined
"unless Keith Richards can demonstrate that smoking on stage is part of his performance" - which he sure did. :E
smile: he was also prowling around the stage smoking during the intro to SFTD, as if he was checking
whether anyone would notice in the camouflage of the "red snakeskin" lighting. yeah, we see you darlin - loud & clear! :E

maybe i'll find some more words later, about the fierce dirty ways Keith was extending YGMR -
about Mr Ronnie Wood showing everyone how CYHMK is done - about all that glorious chunka chunka chunka chunka -
and how they all shine just like forever when the music's having its way with them -

but meanwhile ... ~*thank you Rolling Stones!*~
and swing on, to your beautiful hearts' content.

i was hoping you'd be checking in with some impressions lady sssoul; hope you get a minute to write a review of sorts in the coming days please, and thank you.

And you too Mr. Erik Snow; would love to hear stories of the night from you two especially. ty.

I thought he ate some gum, but I've read it was a ciggy.

>> I've read it was a ciggy. <<

smile: well, i've read a whole lot of things in my life, and reading 'em doesn't mean they're right.
(yes, it looked like a cigarette, because it was supposed to look like a cigarette -
but i promise: you don't want to try eating a real cigarette - especially not 15 seconds before singing.)

it was hilarious - and then Keith's set was all-out brilliant and beautiful. the man is made of music

I have also heard that what Keith ate was NOT a cigarette...
Rather, he ate a portion of his dad's ashes that had been compressed and rolled in a cigarette paper.

"All my friends are junkies...
That's not really true!"

Mine too, Thursday tops, Tuesday second, Sunday - great performance but slightly disappointing setlist. Anyway, seems like they're set to "keep rollin', with luck they ain't done YET !!

Agree with Paulywaul: the show were a bit disappointing as far as the setlists are concerned (at least for those who already have attended several shows this summer), and on Sunday Keith's performance has been more unconsistent than in the other gigs (major screws on "You Got Me Rocking", fantastic on "Rough Justice", bored and almost not - playing in "Miss You", great on "It's Only Rock'n Roll", posing a lot on "Sympathy For The Devil" and great on the two last numbers).

Mick, Charlie and Ronnie on the other hand have been fantastic throughout the whole tour.

On Sunday the sound wasn't actually the best: for instance Charlie's bass drum was way too loud, whereas the cymbals and the snare drum were too low indeed.

I loved this show, set list de rigueur but didnt give a toss. SWH was fierce fast. CYHMK twice in a week! cant tell if either was better. I think mick especially was shining with the harp on Sunday. the long thankyous were apt n refreshing, keiths mentioning we're all part of the band could only have come from him, the guy is the sweetest!

I got one of Keith's picks too!!!! this really topped off the whole tour for me. we had ran down to the front of bstage, amazing vibe all over the gaf, one landed on the floor, crazy scuffle, then i got a tap on the back and a guy gave me the pick!!! how cool is that. All i could do was grin and scream like a maniac as he stood there smiling cool as fuk. thanks a bomb whoever he may be if reading here!

thankfully we were A3 for the last ABB show, sound was excellent. thurs on the tiers at back was a different muddy mess of a story tho.

Tues and Sunday amazing shows tho not as stella as slane imo. thursday..well pity sound ruined it for me.

the pilot inn was surely the place to be! i cant remember many of the names, so many maniacs in so many tshirts with so much love for the greatestr'n'rbandindaworld! stories and memories shared that'll stay w me a looong while ;^)

Here's 20 pics I made.

St. Christopher's Village in Borough where I was staying.

View of The O2 from inside the North Greenwich tue station.

Another pic of The O2. Taken while I was walking towards The Pilot Inn.

First IORR t-shirt in sight. Didn't know who it was at first, but it turned out to be Adrian-L with his girlfriend.

Fans inside The Pilot Inn. PartyDollMEG, Adrian and girlfriend, Sweet Virginia and Gazza in this pic.

A pic of The Pilot Inn. Taken while I was having a fag outside.

Rockman with Erik Snow in the background.

More fans. Beast and Paulywaul among others.

John R and his wife Trish.

Group shot. This is only a fraction of the vast number of fans that was there.

Bitch and her son and daughter (I think).

Sitting on the grass outside The Pilot Inn. Stargroves, me, PartyDollMEG and Erik Snow.

At the Stones show. Going to the b-stage.

Jagger on the b-stage.

Ronnie on the b-stage.

Keith on the b-stage. Chuck in the background.

Group shot of the band.

Final bows. Notice Jagger's tongue is all over his face.

Then I went to Abbey Road the day after the show. I wrote on the wall.

...And got my picture taken on the road crossing.

GREAT trip.
