hmmm. if the crowd is tame, the music's great and yr freakin and half way through theyre still standin still/sittin there it can be very disconcertin 4sure. I do what i feel, dont care how 'dum' it may look. mostly its all a gas but sometimes takes a while...

Not sure if "hot" is the right word ? Totally outa control, mostly very smashed, and if you were anywhere down the front ... pissing a lot of folks off. I personally had a blast at that show, but the sight of people invading the front blocks of seats and deliberately peeling off the stickers on seats and destroying the "block" identification cards so that the legitimate seat holders couldn't identify their seats - well I've NEVER seen behaviour like that at any other show anywhere in the world. And I must say that had I been implicated myself as a consequence of them doing that, I'd have been well hacked off !!

Yes, that's what's happened. We've never had seated rock shows in Italy, so what happened was very predictable for us, and that's been e consequence of the shitty (sorry) organization we've had. I'm sorry for all the people who actually got ripped off, but on the other hand it still was like a rock'n roll audience is supposed to be. Probably best concert I've ever seen.

I agree about organisation and/or security. Hopeless. still, for those of us that were actually able to FIND our seats and STAND on them whilst death and destruction prevailed all around ... it was indeed a great show !!

saw the Stones in 13 shows in 8 countries on this tour - US, Germany, France, England (2006 & 2007), Scotland, Portugal, Spain, Ireland - and the best audience of the lot was the one at the Spanish show I saw (Madrid)

Whether its coincidence or not, along with Lisbon, it was also the one with the youngest crowds and the cheapest tickets....

gazza - with all the money you laid out the stones camp should give you a big refund or discount next time, with two kids here in the USA extra dollars go to the college fund. amazing that you can financially follow your passion accross
8 countries.

To me, Milano was a great crowd.
Paris 2006 too.
Nice was my biggest disapointment, especially if compared to Marseille 2003

This is not possible to measure at all. Many hard core fans i.e. on IORR get the best tickets at the highest prices, and end up in the seated VIP areas where the VIP's are boring and sitting down. Then may be you are in the FOS where most people are very interested anyway, good crowd, and you feel the crowd is great, while the 40,000 people outside the FOS does not bother that much. Only way to find out is by walking around during the show, and most people doesn't do that. One more thing. You don't have to jump up and down and dance around like a drunk mainac to enjoy the show and be a great crowd.

I don't expect the crowd to act like the Live Aid crowd in '85 (during Queen). But it's always great when you get close.
And God it is fun to turn your head around in Paris, at first row, and watch a few people at the worst seats (as far as my eyes reached), jumping up and down like maniacs.
In Halifax (youngest crowd for me). I had two girls behind me, jumping up and down like mad, keep saying to each other. "Oh my, oh my, can't believe this... In Halifax, oh my..."
Drunkest crowd... I thought the Norwegians were on or off when it came to alcohol. Werchter Park won the contest out of the 15 ABB I did. I thought Parken, Copenhagen would be the winner, but not. Funny enough in Parken, on the way out, this drunk out-of-this-planet-kind-of-guy was hanging over the rail. Suddenly he opened his mouth saying something to his GF/wife, and he was Norwegian...
MSG, NYC, should also be mentioned. I had some less than good seats in there, but everybody had a ball.
