Thats certainly the main factor, I'd agree. Whether its the only factor is a matter of conjecture. Guess we'll find out soon enough

They will release the already confirmed Euro Summer dates as soon as they confirm the Fall US arena dates. They are heading back there right after Eroupe. They are just working on the Logistics. Take it to the Bank.

Okay, I was pissed, and now I will remove the post. No need to discuss this.

Nah. I just like to see my favourite band tour. Hardly a crime. Nice sidestep though.

you're entitled

I'm not basing it on opinion or conjecture, but more on what I've been told by my own sources I'd consider to be normally good, reading local press reports about shows being scheduled in or planned for certain cities and as well as comments by people on here such as Bv, oldkr, stonesdoug who have themselves used their own sources to back up what theyre talking about. Its basic research - its not like we pick this stuff out of thin air and post stuff like "they'll tour in 2007" just for the sake of it.

They tour because they like it. Simple as that. If you have seen them on stage then you know they love it. They have all the money they need. Mick would rather work on his film projects. Keith would like to be in his library during summer and hot places in the winter, then an odd club guest spot every few years in NYC. Charlie likes to be at home doing nothing. Ronnie wants to paint and jam with friends in London.

So why do they keep on touring? For the same reason why people drink alcohol or take drugs or have sex or stay married. Because they simply like it and get a kick of it. And they don't want to stop, because they don't know what will happen then.

bv i agree apart from the end of a tour when they get cabin fever and homesick! the best time to see them is between show 5-10 of any tour/ leg after a break. Thats when the love shines thru

I think Charlie has the lowdown on it. He said, when asked if they tour for the money, that "it's part of it". Another part being that they like it and so on. So really it's like any other band (Because all bands like/want the money and all bands, apart from The Beatles, loves touring). The only difference is the much grander scale The Stones are doing it on.

Yeah, it would fit the Youtube-culture I suppose. I think the Stones-show is a very attractive thing to watch. They (Mick, Charlie, Ron and Keith) are all so different, which makes them very mediagenetic.

Another single-possibility:

1: Ain't too proud to beg
2: Rain Fall Down
3: Monkey Man

Hmm... I think the other two singles (page 19) would be better choices.

Ya wanna bet? Keefstheman (btw - that's the only statement you've made I agree upon!), I bet 100 USD they're touring Europe this summer. Wanna bet against me?

Know what tralala? I really don't care whether you agree with what I think/say or not. It's hard for me to believe how many people here get so bent out of shape about my feeling/opinion about a tour this summer, and how rude they can be about our differences. Some of you really need help...(btw..not a gambler, so save your money)

I'm really not a gambler, either. But I know there will be a tour. And now I am convinced you do, too. Or else you would have had the guts to bet against me. But I like a bit of temperature on the board, so just go on, keefstheman. Keep on denying. I think it's very sweet.

The best time to see them on tour is every show. Every single show. I have been following entire tours and I know exactly how they work show by show. They are like a football or ice hockey team. They have a curve. Like during LICKS that curve was peaking one time as they came into NYC and soon after Hartford. They have ups and downs like any other normal person. But the level is usually very high. Some times they are winning for weeks, every single show is just fantastic. And when they are peaking, like in Vienna, San Diego, Wichita, Buenos Aires or wherever they get the perfect match between the band, the venue and the crowd, then you are in heaven. It might not be the first show, it might not be the last show, but those are the shows you will remember for the rest of your life. And all those shows in-between, they are just as great. I can't wait to see them again!

Hi there,

Wonder if anyone has any idea as to whether they will play Barcelona in 2007 and if so when.

I purchased tickets for the show in May 2006 for myself and my 2 boys but of course it was cancelled due to Keef's accident. Would love to see them in Barca because I've heard the atmosphere in Spain is amazing. Does anyone think I would get preference because I bought tickets for the gig last year?

I also agree with bv, it becomes an obsession for them as it does for us!

No date known yet. probably in June.

No. The show was cancelled and refunds were given, so I would imagine everyone will be back to square one again. As the event was cancelled, I cant see how they could get around that by giving previous buyers preferential treatment

Spain is on top of their list, as they missed all four planned shows last year.

Bjornulf, do you have a family and a full time job? How can you afford all the travel and tickets and accommodation. Remember, if they play Seattle you can bunk in my sitting room!!!

Indeed it is.

Does anyone think

No,but there is plenty of time for buying new tickts when they are on sale. No need to panic. That's one thing I've learned from this tour.

Well, most of us (Forbes incl.) think there is another major reason for touring.

Re: Europe 2007 - 40 shows

Money beats soul?

I think whether a person believes the tour
is all about the money (po-ro-ro-ro-dom-dom)
or concern about the fans... says more about that very person
than about anything else.

Remember: Its the same Jagger who initiated Altamont,
a free concert. hopefully he has leanred something.

I also hope Bucharest will be such a huge success as Rio was.

Re: Europe 2007 - 40 shows
Posted by: Beast ()
Date: January 27, 2007 12:09

I agree. But didn't the free Altamont idea come about because people had been complaining about high ticket prices?! (so what's new...)

Re: Europe 2007 - 40 shows
Posted by: Baboon Bro ()

Buy then I'm pretty sure the high prices were way off the bands control.

Don't get me wrong! I don't mind them earning lots of money of course. They worked hard for it and they were lucky to be talented and being at the right place at the right time.
IMO it is just silly saying that they are not doing it for the money nowadays. That's all. I hope they will keep doing it as long as they can.
