Besides Jimmy Page not present, where was Jeff's favorite bass player Tal Wakenfled?

Thanks for the links. Some great performances.
Was disappointed in Shapes of Things. Eric somehow made that powerful song kind of boring.

Wow, John McLaughlin is impressive indeed, only one who can get "close" to Beck, must try to catch him live.

Ronnie was on those songs both nights, I reckon?

EDIT: Rhonda Smith on bass
I don’t find his playing here anything special from either a technical or emotional standpoint. And that type of playing where there is platform for a guitarist to be the focal point of the song makes almost any guitarist sound better. If you let Ron Wood have that platform In sure he’d sound more impressive than when he is playing in an ensembleQuote

One of the reasons why "You Know You Know" sounded similar to Jeff is because the theme was originally written & played by Mc'Laughlin in 1971.
Jeff Beck played it very often, already with Tal Wilkenfeld if I remember it well.

Gary Clark Jr. looks like he’s a foot taller than everyone else in that photo.
The one of Ronnie and Rod nose to nose is good. Every picture tells a story, don’t it?

Jeff Beck was a huge John McLaughlin fan! He admired him and was truly inspired by him.
John's playing is a little bit different today than in the 1970s. Less frantic and loud unfortunately. But he's still a god to me! His performance was awesome!
