"On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss."

So glad I got to see him live on his own, and with Brian Wilson, and also Z.Z. Top. The last of the great English guitar slingers whose talents were still intact at an advanced age. This is a great loss of an immensely talented musician. Rest in Peace.

Very sad! Hardly no guitarist could get so much out of his guitar than Jeff.
Saw him live end of June ´22. He was as good as ever which is just fantastic.
Rest in peace!

I'm crushed. Jeff totally changed my path musically in 1976. Opened for Aerosmith & blew them away. My 4th concert. RIP

Just seen this very sad news on BBC TV.
Couldn't believe it, but obviously it's true.

His music will always be with us, but so many musicians and talented band members passing away, at the end of 2022 and the start of 2023 is so sad. sad smiley

Just gutted. Awful news. Such a brilliant guitarist across so many decades. Just listened to Rod's version of People Get Ready with Jeff on it. RIP

I remember seeing him in the 70's. He opened with Freeway Jam. Still one of the better shows I have seen.

Sudden and sad. I always thought he looked in good nick for his age. RIP Jeff Beck. Saw his guest spot with the Stones at the very 1st 50 and Counting show at the O2 in November 2012.

Wow that's a big shock and yeah totally unexpected as he was still playing at his best recently. Loved the guy, I was lucky to see him three times, once in 2001 at the Warfield in SF when he'd become some kind of a cult act, at the O2 in 2012 when he came roaring out for "Going Down" and then from the first row at Pleyel in Paris at the end of 2016, that was such a treat.

The most amazing guitar player ever, RIP Jeff !

A once in a generation talent.. totally unique and original. Saw Jeff on tour with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie Ray delivered a crowd pleasing but rather predictable set..Jeff was touring behind "Guitar Shop" at the time and completely baffled the audience with off the wall brilliance. I thought he stole the show. RIP and thank you Jeff Beck!
