I’m curious as to what those outside the U.K. think of Hi Ho Silver Lining, Jeff’s fist solo release. The recording is somewhat of an anthem here and is still heard regularly. The problem is that, although so many know it, I would wager that a sizeable percentage couldn’t tell you the artist responsible. Many that do know it’s Jeff Beck, see him as a ‘One-Hit Wonder’ A shame, really, although I, myself, thin of him as the ‘guitarists guitarist’ Anyway, regarding the wonderful Hi Ho Silver Lining, it really was so unexpected to witness him perform it live, alongside Eric Clapton at the o2 Arena, London, in 2010. The entire audience sang-along; such a memorable moment.

I'm in the UK, and I can't stand that song. I love everything else he did with the Rod & Ronnie-era Jeff Beck Group though, and even more so The Yardbirds (forget Clapton and Page, their most innovative era was by far with Jeff Beck!).

RIP to one of the greatest guitarists ever. But his work on Jagger solo albums was strangely unmoving and underwhelming

Jeff adventured in so many genres, Blues, Rock, Jazz ... he was really unique and versatile.
Maybe, his move was impressed me most was his collaboration with Stevie Wonder.
Rest in Peace Jeff !
