RIP to one of the greatest guitarists ever. But his work on Jagger solo albums was strangely unmoving and underwhelming

He gave us that iconic riff in The Yardbirds "Heart Full of Soul" and that brilliant club gig in the fantastic Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-Up.
Did anyone get to see him play with The Yardbirds on their 1966 tour? I'm guessing DaveG was there.
RIP Jeff Beck.

Hey Sicilian, I regret that I never got to see Jeff Beck live. I remember that my sister, a year order than me, went to their show at The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1966. The next morning she told me that it was a very exciting show. I found out later that Jeff was out sick that night.
I have Truth on my perpetual playlist. There was nothing like it back then with Jeff, Rod at the top of his game, and Ronnie. It is still fresh.
RIP Jeff Beck. Thanks for blessing us with your incredible creativity

(The band toured with Page on bass, and Beck and Dreja on guitars, playing dates in Paris, the UK, the Midwestern US and the California coast. Beck fell ill late in the latter tour, and was hospitalised in San Francisco. Page took over as lead guitarist at the Carousel Ballroom (San Francisco) on 25 August and Dreja switched to bass. Beck stayed in San Francisco to recuperate with his girlfriend Mary Hughes, while the rest of the band completed the tour. After the Yardbirds reunited in London, Dreja remained on bass and the group's dual lead guitar attack was born.) - from Wiki
Thanks Dave. You didn't miss much in those days. I always love to hear your reminisces.
