So once it's understood their drummer sat out their Vegas residency because his wife passed away four months ago, our response is to say Aerosmith died years ago. I'm not sure what appalls me more, the ignorance or callousness that is becoming increasingly common on this board.

Damn....These guys need to do a world tour with Ozzie Osbourne. No insurance company would touch it though.

Slightly OT, Wife and I saw The Joe Perry Project last night at the Foxwoods Casino in CT with Gary Cherone (Exteme, VH) on vocals.
Great concert, they played 2hrs,a mix of old Aerosmith, old Joe Perry Project songs and covers,
Cherone is a great front man and did a nice job singing the old Aerosmith songs
Joe can still pick it at the tender age of 72.
Highly recommended if they come near you for the fraction of the ticket prices for an Aerosmith concert.

It’s a bit unsettling to see Joe playing just OK.
The unspoken truth of the last 25 or 30 years of rock and roll is the disciples have been surpassing the masters for a long, long time.
To think Joe Perry was not a better guitar player than Jimmy Page or Eric Clapton since at least the mid-80s is almost comical.
To think those sorry self parody Keith Richards solo albums were anything close to what Izzy Stradlin was doing is a joke.you’d have to be in some sort of hero worshiping denial to think otherwise.
To see the best pure rock and roll guitar player of the last three decades playing average doesn’t bode well for the future.
PS-Jeff Beck was purposely left out of this post. You don’t FCK with Jeff Beck.or his legacy.
