I also think it's a bit too quiet for them to announce the whole tour.

I guess, you're right

Yes, Dublin is all over the Irish media, but my point was it is the only city rumored in the media. The only place where Twickenham is mentioned thus far is IORR (and the Twitter link that circulated here). Quite surprising given that the application to increase concert capacity is a public document.

Before the No Filter Tour was officially announced there was at least some talk in the German media about Hamburg and Munich, and shows such as Lucca and Paris were also rumored.

(And still, the No Filter Tour announcement, in its entirety, managed to come as somewhat of a surprise.)

For now, though, things just seem a tad too quiet. Should have more names of cities and venues dripping. Or...the cards are being played really close to the chest this time!

All - looking for accommodation in London.

As a Londoner and a resident of Richmond, I'd like to make a suggestion.

Don't forget AIRBNB, there's lots of it around the Richmond/Kew/Twickenham area. If these shows at Twickenham DO materialise on 19th and 23rd June, then I suggest you look to stay in the precise area of Richmond/Kew. WHY ? Because (a) you are within spitting distance of the stadium, and more importantly (b) you haven't got the hassle of getting back to central London after the show(s). Sightseeing and doing stuff in central London is for daytime, and getting into London from Richmond/Kew is simplicity itself. Richmond station is served by three train lines: District (tube), Overground, and SW Trains (mainline into Waterloo). This is infinitely better than Twickenham station, which is SW Trains only. The last District from central London to Richmond is about 00:20 hrs, same for Overground, I think SW Trains from Waterloo around the same.

If anyone needs/wants more precise 'local' info, my email is not hidden ...........
The other little trick at Twickenham rail station is to get the southbound train, get off at the next station and get the London bound train, avoiding the queues.

True, that would also work (in principle), but unfortunately the queues at Twickenham Station that build up are often just to get into the station itself, which is where you need to be before you can get onto the southbound platform. So one way or the other, regardless of which direction you're travelling in - you still get caught up in a horrendous bloody queue !!
Not my experience last time, you just bypass the London queue and in I went. Everyone assumed the queue was into the station, it wasn't, it was the London bound queue. I was back in Windsor within 45 minutes !!

Satisfied since 1976

You mean they play mainly rarities this year? I think 20, then 19 tracks with 16 warhorses and 17 are identically every night.

Really hoping the Twickenham concerts and dates pan out..
Either way planning on making a few dates this tour.

In checking around for stones sites to check out in England, I stumbled across this interactive map from Exhibitionism. I'm sure it's been discussed here before, but a very cool tool for mapping out a (first)visit.. The site centers the map in Vegas now, but if you zoom out and relocate it still has the England version.

The Mariott in Twickenham only gives you a day to cancel your reservation, doesn't seem like a good hotel to use if unsure of the dates....

If you book it through Hotels.com you can cancel (for a little more $) up to the day before.. I went with the economical nearby Travelodge which had an option for cancelling up until noon the same day.

Quite a few well known pop/rock acts playing around London during the rumored Twickenham timeframe. Big city, but might make it less likely The Stones will choose that week.

Ed Sheeran
Beach Boys
Pearl Jam
Billy Idol
Lenny Kravitz
Foo Fighters
Yes
Taylor Swift
???

To be honest how much time do you need?

As soon as the official dates are confirmed i will be cancelling straight away if different dates.
I can cancel the day before via booking.com.

Unless I am reading you wrong.

You may be. If you book the Mariott, you have until Feb 5 to cancel. If the band doesn't announce tomorrow, you're stuck with it. But acommodation shouldn't be an issue, this is inside London.

Well it's nothing wrong with critisizing the current setlists IMHO. Compare the 2013 setlists with those from 2017. What was more interesting?

In the UK it's day/month/year vs here in the states where it's month/day/year.

in 2013 there were usually two more slots per show than in 2017. Since these were rotation slots more songs have been performed in total. The number of warhorses is/was the same, the percentage of warhorses per total number of songs performed changed.

You are right, they played (almost) the same amount of warhorses in 2013. But I would prefer two more rotating songs to endless long warhorses in "shorter setlists" (although shows have the same length). The only difference between most shows in 2017 were the different tracks 6 and 7. That's very disappointing no matter how great the show might be nevertheless! The early shows of this decade had not only two spots for surprises or often - but not always - played songs.
