Oh come on everybody! These guys are ancient and have abused their brains and bodies for decades. When I saw them last year in Mexico Keith couldn't remember how to start Happy, and Ronnie had to spend a few moments showing him.

I don't think we can expect them do play a bunch of 'rare' stuff.

considering this – they are playing a lot of rare or even new stuff, at least form Keith' point of view (if you forget a lot of things nearly everything is new for you – just like in cases of Alzheimer's)

Would love to hear Keith do a Berry number in his own set. For an untempo one Sweet Little Rock n Roller or how about Wee Wee Hours ?

I don't think we can expect them do play a bunch of 'rare' stuff. I think it's as much as they can do (I guess I'm thinking of KR mainly here) to give us a run through of their hits that they have played a million times.

But enjoy it! This is legendary music played by the very people that made it in the first place so many years ago. There is no feast that does not come to an end.

Amen!
I would be happy with a Cuba or Hyde Park setlist. As long as I get Midnight Rambler I am happy.

Sweet Little Rock n Roller with Ronnie on shared vocals would be great, bringing back the old New Barbarians days! Wee Wee Hours is only for specialists like you and me, while I fear that others would head for a toilet break.

Well actually that is where you are wrong, Keith and the others love it when new material is put before them. Keith , Ronnie and Charlie get so tired of playing the same old stuff, every time they play something new the boys shine.
Look at the Sticky Fingers Fonda gig.
Why be so negative about them , of course they could introduce a few of the songs i listed to make for a more exiting show.

Even just a three or four of these tracks below at each show, alternating each night would make all the difference. I hope Chuck is watching this thread.

Don't you think songs like Rock's Off, Bitch, Time Waits For No One, Coming Down Again, If You Can't Rock Me, Street Fighting Man, Crazy Mama, CYHMK, All About You, Sway, Nearness Of You, Factory Girl, Dead Flowers, Let It Bleed, Monkey Man, That's How Strong My Love Is, Let It Loose, and about 30 others i can't be bothered to mention, would make a welcome change from Miss You and YCAGWYW.

Added.
In fact the 17 song set list i have just listed would go down well with any Stones fan without a single Warhorse is sight.

I wasn't trying to be negative really, just respectful and realistic.

But I take your point about the Fonda SF gig. Come to think of it, I haven't actually heard all of that.

Sounds like a plan for Sunday afternoon...

I remember only too clearly the time Keith forgot how to start Happy after he wished Patti happy Birthday, but that was a one off in recent times, probably caused by his medication, (he has anti seizure meds since the bang on the head) but 90 percent of the time i think Keith is willing to learn, yearning for the challenge. The songs i suggested are not that difficult to play (or sing for Keith) and would make a welcome change for the disappointing efforts he makes on songs like SFTD.

Second workweek of NO FILTER Tour Rehearsals starting tomorrow in LONDON.

Maybe some time to rehearse/record some new songs for the NEW 2018 album.

Yes.

This is what bands do.......when....... playing together in A ROOM.

Attempting to perfect the LIVE setlist and jamming around to add NEW ones.

"Coming Down Again" would be quite nice to hear from Keith.

'August Bank Holiday Monday' as they call it over here in U.K.

Most workers apart from shops, bars, restaurants etc. will have the day off

Gonna be a very warm day and wouldn't be surprised if The Stones do the same and have a long weekend. smiling smiley

In Perth also. Happy was... not Happy when it started. Had to stop. Ask chuck. Restart.

Maybe Keith messed up the start of Happy because he was nervous about playing Happy for Patti's Happy Birthday when the song was written for Anita who was on the tour and he'd just played You Got the Silver which was also about Anita. But there's no other song but Happy that he could play on the occasion of a birthday.

My wishlist for rehearsals:

Coming Down Again, Time Waits For No One, Citadel, Winter, Dear Doctor, High and Dry, Plundered My Soul, 100 Years Ago, Confessin'The Blues, Highwire, Soul Survivor, Hipshake.
I'm lucky if they play only two songs from my list!

thumbs upsmileys with beer Awesome

lets face it this is probably the last chance the Stones will get to play songs like Coming Down Again and Time Waits For No One for the first time to an audience.
I would so love to hear 100 years ago and Winter, its hard to believe they have never played these live before.
Come on someone pass these requests onto the boys winking smiley

Please Please drop Miss You, they could fit a medley of never played before tracks into that 9 minute slot. The crowd would love it smoking smiley

So this thread turned into another setlist discussion thread.
Is there any news of how the rehearsals are going? Except Ronnie's babysitting his twins
in some studio?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Keith has started Before They Make Me Run as Brown Sugar as well - wouldn't worry too much about that grinning smiley

I read somewhere that Keith said he'll never do it, because of the lyrics, or something...

It's a shame, cause it's a great, great song, imo.

If Keith attempts Can't Be Seen one more time, i will pull my hair out. ( if i had any ) winking smiley

If Keith played Coming Down Again live it would make my life complete.
Maybe he will sing it this time as a tribute to Anita. Fingers crossed .

No sweat.
But when looking for clues about what they actually ARE reheasing, it is quite a job
to go through five pages of wishful thinking.

It is rather odd that they have been rehearsing for a week and no reports have surfaced. Are they in an underground bank vault and no one outside can hear anything?
