Johnny Depp yes, stone4ever.

There are some good songs on CHUCK. I like the characteristic Berry rockers with his trademark guitarsound.

Title of this thread should be: RECORDINGS in LONDON.

Yes, agree with the above message. And hope the recordings are going well, btw.

Rolling Stones Sessions on FB:

The band have just concluded two weeks of sessions (30 May - 9 June 2017) for an up and coming new album rumoured to be released later this year. The sessions were at British Grove studios in London. Don Was was producing the sessions recorded by engineer Krish Sharma and engineers from British Grove.

Interesting video. Never saw him before. Of course, Charlie's known him for 24 years so chances are good they're just fine around one another in the studio.

Ahh I did not know that!

In that case I can imagine Charlie telling him where to move the drum kit, or precisely where to set up the snare. winking smiley

Would one or two songs from BLUE & LONESOME and/or one or two songs from "NO FILTER" on the next European Tour stop your whining?

Waterrats is right.

No new song is better than a bad one. Like the horrible Rough Justice on most ABB shows.

Of course it did...maybe Monsoon mixed it up with SOL...although some seemed to enjoy the live version...

No. RJ sounds too much like the Stones for my taste. And I think horribly may be too harshly but it is not so great to be played over 100 times IMHO. SOL is okay to me.

Yes, SOL is pretty good live. They can include that in their setlist, no problem.

Me too, otherwise I wouldn't be here. But that doesn't mean I love every stonesey Stones rocker. Some "new" ones like Sparks Will Fly or You Got Me Rocking are not my cup of tea.

No. they're not mine either if I'm honest .

They're too much "straight ahead" rockers for any real subtlty or nuance in the groove.

Still fun though smiling smiley

When I see the initials SOL I think of Shit Out of Luck. Horrible tune studio and live imo...forcing it on the audience as if it was a worthy tune.
It was more of a Bon Jovi tune than a Stones tune - a power ballad that was thankfully buried from all setlists afterwards.
I highly doubt we'll ever see another one of those from the Stones ever again. Seems the whining has begun...wake up RipThisBone!

I think SOL doesn't sound much like Bon Jovi. To me the studio version is okay, too sweet maybe, but RWs solo saves it. It’s okay live and - yes - the stadium crowds loved it. That's why it wasn't thrown out after one or two appearances like many "obscure" new songs since 1972. The best version IMHO is the rough Toronto 05 rehearsal take.

It was back in the setlist in 2014, with and without Mick Taylor.
