Mick is on top of his game here! Fantastic to hear his high harp on Little Rain.

Please tell the dolphins swimming out there I said hi smiling smiley its been a while for me to see them

As I am Impatiently waiting for December 2

Will do Hank this afternoon when I go back to my studio which is apprx. 50 yards from the beach.thumbs up
In the meantime, I also await impatiently for Dec. 2. Good to see so many here are loving it - haven't seen all this positiveness here...ever.
Even Keith's masterpiece last year brought out a variety 'mixed emotions' around here. Perhaps it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but somehow an album of unoriginal blues covers is?
Glad about all the good vibes, and looking forward to indulge myself in the goods...hard to believe at this late point in the Stones' career we're gifted with two great releases nearly within a year of each other.thumbs up

One thing is clear on this LP - Ronnie is carrying the load! Damn good, too.

...wadda bout Keef?

Doing a fine job.

Very nice electric 12 string slide work on Hoodoo Blues and a cool outro solo on All Of Your Love. He sounds like he's having a blast playing these songs thumbs up

Yeah, Keith's there but Ronnie is doing a lot of the 'lead' lines, a lot of the busy licking. Keith does some excellent vamps, the kind of blues vamping he loves to do.

that sound Hairball THAT sound
CH is effing great
but THAT sound is THE sound
and they should not forget when on the originals

The main reason why I was blown away was the three first tracks we got. They were really nice, yet pretty one-dimensional.

As it seemed this is a candy bag of lots of different types of blues songs, with an overall vibe. That's not easy to accomplish.

Favourites right now: Hoodoo Blues, I Gotta Go and Little Rain.

Clapton's slide fills on Everybody Knows About My Good Thing is marvellous. Ronnie's solo, too.

My wife forced me to move over to headphones now... thumbs up

This album... wow. They've been busy doing 'contemporary' music and 'sounding like the Stones' since 1989 - this IS the Stones. Seems like they should've done something like this between albums since 1989!

It's gotta have an impact on the new originals. If they had the same set up when they were cutting originals... it should be a filthy album!

Yes, the "originals" since...let's say 1989 do sound a bit "pale" in comparison. On the other hand I hadn't heard any of these covers before, apart from "Commit a Crime" with Beck, so it's not a "standard" covers album like the stuff Rod's been releasing.

EDIT - and "I Can't Quit You Babe" of course, but, well it's Zeppelin and...I don't listen to them very often these days ;-) Oops and "Good Thing" that Mick played with Gary More in 1992.

Perhaps you had heard I Can't Quit You Baby with Led Zeppelin?

Both versions are really interesting, imo.
