I hate to say it but the Mick Taylor today sounds like shit!
I doubt your statement.
It's just dumb.

I'm very much looking forward to this album! I enjoyed the RS Cover Story and can't wait to start listening on friday.
By the way: Do you know if the whole album will be published on Spotify on friday as well? I am currently in the process of putting together a new record player and music system, and that might not be ready for the new vinyl by friday..

As they say, the print won't change!

I kind of get the idea that this guy hasn't even heard the album! Light on specifics, heavy on quotes and already published stuff.

Got praised in the Wall Street Journal today.
I don't usually see album reviews in that paper, so the Stones publicity machine is doing its job. The review might as well have been written by the Stones publicity people, too.
Come friday ill be off to the store to pick up a vinyl copy!Quote

The album finally leaked online, a great covers album, Mick on vocals on all the tracks, Charlie's drums are so cool on some songs, I'm still listening now by second time.

Rolling Stone magazine's rankings and reviews are questionable at best.
It's difficult to trust anything they write as their credibility ranks at about zero.

Commit a Crime is a real standout, great drums on that one, strange fade out with a lot of echo but it works great.
Blue and Lonesome is amazing too, evil and mean feel all over it, fantastic.
Little Rain is Mick at his best on the whole album, his vocals are fantastic on the first half and then an amazing harp until the end, is an unique song on the CD, almost like the only blues ballad on it.
The rest is great but nothing mind blowing, two uptempo songs as I Gotta Go and Just Like I Treat You, both Clapton's songs are classic blues stuff, very similar but with great guitar solos, All Of My Love is a bit repetitive for my taste while Hoo Doo Blues is like a cousin of Blue and Lonesome with Mick singing on lower level, great guitar work here.
My Top 3:
Little Rain (9/10)
Blue and Lonesome (9/10)
Commit a Crime (8.5/10)
No song is under 5, I'll rank the album with a solid 7 - 7,5
I'll rank Mick's work with a 10, he shines, what a fantastic vocal and harp work.
